If the guy who commissioned this isn't a regular here maybe he never saw the Wishlist thread? And he wasn't aware members were wanting this figure as well, I only saw a few members even suggesting this piece.

I find that hard to believe. Even if this person was not a regular, you don't walk into this hobby blind pitching ideas for commissions.

That's true RM was probably aware of the members asking for this figure to be made..which got me thinking I wonder how many private commissions RM does that we never get to even see?

There were more than enough interested for it to have grounds to be done as a general release in the future. I personally was pushing for it and I belive Ray threw the idea out originally it gathered pace and could have been done. True the guy whos commissioned it may not have been aware of the thread but RM certainly should have been

Exactly. Numerous pics for Harrow were posted in the Wishlist thread. I guess the argument can be had that a pic of everything has been posted by now, but thats just the point. Rainman's too popular to take on commisions without his fanbase feeling leftout. Harrow is too interesting a figure to be ignored.

Poor rainman can't do anything now without people complaining

He's not beholden to the people on this board to get approval for commissions. Someone ponied up the cash, and he made the figure. I don't see that he did anything wrong.

I think there are genuine grounds for complaint here I really do. Rainman of course had no intention of upsetting anyone with this decision but it has left a bad taste in the mouths of a number of his good supporters. This figure could easily of sold out as a general release its a popular enough character and look at the overall standard of the figure from what we've seen would have sold out in record time. I don't even want to get into thinking how having this on the go at the same time may or may not have effected the final product on Jules.

The bottom line for me is RM could have made a lot more from this character sure he's got the 5k or whatever this guy cost but he could have banked close to 10 times that with a general release couple that with the fact it has upset a number of collectors its a poor business decision in my opinion.

But like a couple of you have stated its his decision and theres nothing I or anyone else can do about it...

While I am disappointed we all don't have a chance to get him, this is a good point. The person wasn't a regular here. It doesn't even seem that you can look at the custom section if you're not a member here. I don't think this person commissioned these knowing that many people wanted him, I could be wrong but I also don't think they did it to piss people off. Maybe now that this is being brought up the person that commissioned them could see that people do want them and maybe him and Rainman will make them available. Needless to say though, I'm extremely jealous and would love to see this made available to everyone.

I'm sure he has considered the business side of things but given the stress and headaches from the PF releases, the money might not be worth it at the time.

Ok, so if this commission was not meant to be malicious approach, would the stand up thing for Rainman to do is offer this as a general release? Charge the gentleman the standard $820, return the balance of dollars and make this right. The proto seems like it's all worked out and we have no nitpicks about this.

You don't wave meat infront of a hungry pack of wolves. I mean WTF man? That figure looks like it was worked on more than the $h!t we already paid for! We're paying customers too.

I kinda want to press him about this.

Lets see what type of stand-up guys these are

Edit: n/m misread your post.

Now you have people paying $820 while he's out $5000 or how ever much the commission was. Why would he want to do that unless he got some money back?

As far as I'm concerned he should take the L on this. I mean what happened to all the "I love you all for your support" and thnak you friends supporting my work" talk. What that doesnt count for anything anymore. Jules is paid for by more than 30 members and it's still in limbo! That Harrow took time man. Why not offer it to us as well. If its about money he makes more as a general release.

I agree....this figure will sell out in mins. Jules is still sitting there waiting still. Be nice to grab this figure but I doubt he will offer it. That figure could be his greatest release as of now

haha I do see your point. I can definitely see how it would seem malicious if RM said to the person this is a popular and people would want figures and then the person said no, one off. That's definitely malicious. Yet I don't know what the conversation was between them. I do wish RM would of said no to the commission and did the figures somewhere down the line because it's wanted but money is pretty awesome.

Thats short money though. If that commission cost upwards of $20,000 than I'll step back because then and only then did that guy "Buy out the Bar". But sell us out for 5K?

Regardless of whats happened. It's done. We will never get everything we want. And by the way things have been going lately (excessive nitpicking and such) its easier for an artist to take a commission instead of dealing with peoples expectations (head not accurate enough, etc.)

We have all bickered and conversed on these forums for years but the beating these Pulp figures took by some was just too much and it shows now. I'm convinced. Honestly, we were never getting 100% likeness every time. Just Rainmans best take on said actor. Some were better then others of course, as expected. My Pee Wee project wasn't 100% spot on but I know the artist did his best and I love it even more for that.

Honestly, if you want perfection then why are you in this hobby. Nothing is perfect! No artist can give you that. Again, NOTHING IS PERFECT! I mean really, what is "perfect" when we are talking about artistic interpretations?

I understand the anger and such but we have to take it for what it is and move on. Let's just hope this is not the new direction things will go. Cause then that's a whole new ball of wax!

I love and will still support Rainman but this is an eye opener for sure. Cause if its just all about money then I'm outta this game sooner than later. :peace

are we all trying to get rainman to throw the towel in? a lot of stick been thrown his way lately! im happy he does private commissions because when I win the £157 million on euro millons tonight ill have one a month lol. who to start with? who would be your dream commission guys?
