After this post not anymore!
Private commissions from rainman are around $5k.
Mags, we're not talking about what's perfect....we're talking about what's right.
I want to see if Rainman has to courage to say, "Oh you guys like this? Ok it was supposed to be a commission but let's roll it out as a general release instead" I'm sure the person who commissioned it would be cool with showing the community love Facebook or Sideshow if it really wasn't about trying to be about competition as much as it is about love of characters, film and hobby. I don't want to brush this off man. We been here already. When is it going to stop. Where's the integrity?
After this post not anymore!
Ok, so if this commission was not meant to be malicious approach, would the stand up thing for Rainman to do is offer this as a general release? Charge the gentleman the standard $820, return the balance of dollars and make this right. The proto seems like it's all worked out and we have no nitpicks about this.
You don't wave meat infront of a hungry pack of wolves. I mean WTF man? That figure looks like it was worked on more than the $h!t we already paid for! We're paying customers too.
I kinda want to press him about this.
Sorry. Is that out of bounds?
Haven't been keeping up with the thread I must say. Happy to remove that post if needed.
Exactly the entitleist bulls**t I expect from you. Get a hold if yourself.
I'm just saying that public info makes me envision other collectors now running to sell **** to see if they can commission the next one off big thing is all. If theres alot of demand for this sort of thing, BOOM price has gone up! It's done anyway. Moving on.

Based on all the frustration and downright vitriol folks were spewing toward the PF guys at various points, I could see Rainman feeling even LESS motivation to act in the interests of the broad collector community at this point. Jules is what it is. If you think he didn't give it proper attention and half-assed it (which is the inference), then why buy it to begin with? No one puts a gun to anyone's head here. And by the way things have been going lately (excessive nitpicking and such) its easier for an artist to take a commission instead of dealing with peoples expectations (head not accurate enough, etc.)
Are you serious man? Make up your mind Teddy.
Like Teddy's David, I'm just glad to see such an awesome figure exists. I'll enjoy it vicariously. I can't have it, but as my daughter has to learn, we can't have everything we want all the time. C'est la vie.

Deadly. Nowhere in my posts did I give the impression that I want RM to boycott this commission. To suggest handing the money back to whoever and then releasing it generally is a sh__ty move. I just don't like that mentality at all. What's done is done.
Meh. Rainman really doesn't owe anyone here anything. If you are pissed off that he isn't catering to your whims, then don't buy anymore of his stuff. If you don't like his sculpts, then don't buy his figures. Frankly. . .

To Tim's post, I did have the understanding that this was the typical commission price. I'm sure you would get the same response simply PMing the man, so I don't see a big issue. If someone were hardcore enough to consider a commission then they have probably already taken that step.
