Yeah, it sucks. I work in a luxury industry where there are many fakes around and I'm warning people to be wary of deals that are too good to be true... guess I didn't listen to my own advice!

Dude if you didnt know you didn't know. Why would you destroy it though? You paid money for it and its being sent to you so get your bash on man.

Its not the buyer that should be blamed for unknowingly buying a recasted HS. The responsibility should be squarely put on the recaster.

I know the responsibility isn't on me, but I have such an aversion to someone having knocked off another's work that that head sitting there will just bother the hell out of me. And I don't know if I want it to be sent back so another person can be taken.

i understand how you feel. i guess though, as i was hoping for rainman to do a v2, i will go ahead and mod one so that it is no longer a rainman knockoff. the longer i am in this game, the less likely i find the possibility to score two rainman eagle eyes so when i have the opportunity to finally grab one i will not alter it one bit.
the other i will keep as a placeholder while i continue my search and when i get a genuine article, i will destroy it.
i received the Last Samurai victorian outfit yesterday and it really doesnt measure up to the proto pics, so i am finding i really have my work cut out for me on the brawler bash.
i won't even get into how difficult the v2 is going to be; all of us are well aware of the eclectic nature of Mr Cutting's wardrobe.

hey does anyone have any tips on how to know whether something is a knockoff or not, in the future? sometimes it's easy to tell but like in the case at hand, from the photos it looks real.

Trouble is you never know for sure if the photo being used is of the original piece. Good chance this d-bag has an original sculpt that he is making casts off of... so he can take new pictures yet send you a recast.

The Bill heads were made from a fairly unique colored resin... kind of a beige color and very, very high quality casts.

He was suspected of recasting another person's work and eventually was banned. Now all of the sudden he is selling both this and the other member's work in quantity... so it's a lock he's a recaster.

Diver04 (on eBay) is another well known re-caster that most people stay away from.

I would contact the seller and ask for a refund and send it back. If he doesn't go for it file a claim. Your not out money and gets around feeling like you are supporting recasting. He will sell them other places regardless.

I just saw on ebay, the same guy selling VM's rick sculpt. Not sure if recast or not but still.

i'm out a ton of money anyway i cut it as i went ahead and began putting together a bash for the butcher--some of which has arrived and been opened already: Last Smurai victorian suit, Cap a long boots; ezio bootsleeves+boots; ezio chest belt: 2 tomahawks; 1 machete; 1 axe; 1 pr sweeney todd pants; a small american flag; 1 TTM 19; 1 pr black dress boots; 1 civil war native american knife; 2 civil war buck knives; 1 bloody metal machete; 1 DID WW2 shirt....
and thats off the top of my head.
