i'm out a ton of money anyway i cut it as i went ahead and began putting together a bash for the butcher--some of which has arrived and been opened already: Last Smurai victorian suit, Cap a long boots; ezio bootsleeves+boots; ezio chest belt: 2 tomahawks; 1 machete; 1 axe; 1 pr sweeney todd pants; a small american flag; 1 TTM 19; 1 pr black dress boots; 1 civil war native american knife; 2 civil war buck knives; 1 bloody metal machete; 1 DID WW2 shirt....
and thats off the top of my head.

Wow... yeah I was holding off til I got a head.

I'm just catching up to this now. It pisses me off to hear that some of you had to cross paths with this schmuck. Well some of you want to mod it and turn it into a positive which is cool. But if you didn't want to keep it, you do have a case. You can easily inform Paypal that he's shipping something different than what he advertised and he's selling fakes. You only have 45 days from purchase so anyone who wants to go that route should get on it.

ELVIS' WORK UP IS SICK!!! Love the paint up and the blood. He looks down right wicked!

I think the TTM19 is a bit too buff for him though. It fills out the clothes too much. The Bruce lee body with long foot pegs looks like a really good fit. It keeps the bagginess that the outfit should have. To anyone who used it: How well does the skin tone match in hand? How do you attach the sculpt to it?

This was a cool thread don't put it on the back burner! Post your pics here!

I emailed the seller already and asked regarding a refund, although the item is already shipped and I told him that I would return it. Haven't heard back in over a day, and I don't want to open a case if need be. Also, talking to people on the board and thinking it over I will wait to see the sculpt, and knowing it is a knock off, begin the bash so that hopefully when I do find that authentic head that is all I have to switch out. I'm just torn between wanting this figure and using the recast with keeping my alliance to authenticity and my own morality. Huge questions for this hobby, but I need to keep myself happy! :gah:

He got me with recasted heads also mate. I am awaiting a reply to my request for a full refund. 24 hours and then I'm opening a paypal claim under the premise I received something that was not as advertised i.e. counterfeit. It's completely up to you bud I know like me you are out of cash on this one but I personally will not be using the heads. If I have to return them for a refund I will but I'd far rather throw them in the bin so he can't sell them again.

i received the heads yesterday afternoon. they are well done minus the fact there are no mustache tips. i can post pics if you like. i will be keeping them: one as a place holder on my bash until i can get a real rainman hs; the other i will be having modded into a v2 and bashing. this way it's not a total loss.
i am still hopeful that something may work out with a genuine article i almost got my hands on late last week. and if not then i will continue to search.
i understand your desire to just rid yourselves of it. had i not spent a brick of money already on my bash in anticipation, i might as well. but the reality is neither getting a refund nor throwing it into the garbage will prevent the seller from continuing to knock them off and resell. they obviously have an original and the ability to recast. so their money is in hand. i suppose we will just have to keep an eye out for when the seller next appears and know to avoid them. i feel like this is just as much my fault as it is the seller's; had i not wanted an eagle eye so badly, maybe i would have been smart.

I think it's up to everyone how they personally want to handle it. You're already paid up so if you want to keep it, F' it, do it. If you want to make a claim and stick it to the scumbag, you can do that too. But for the guys who are keeping it, if you ever score an official one and decide to sell these, the best thing to do is fully disclose everything to the buyer. That's the best way to handle the situation. As long as you tell people it's a good quality recast and not an original, then at least the buyer knows what they're getting into.

You have the right attitude from a moral stand point bullet but the s___ty part is that even if everyone crushed theirs, they'll only be hurting themselves because they'll be the ones who are out the money. Resin is cheap and the recaster can churn a bunch out pretty easily so they'll continue to do what they do. Best thing at this point is keep it or file a claim.

i wouldnt sell mine. its just something will keep for myself until i can get an authentic. as for the mod i will be doing, though i dont see that leaving my hands either, i wouldnt ever label it a rainman. as it's not and wont be.
but you're right mike, if someone wanted to sell theirs then saying it's a knockoff is the fair thing to do. i just dont really want to go down that road, personally. would rather just put an end to the story here and try to get what positives i can out of the situation.

Filing paypal claims is good I think but the best thing we can all do in the future is get the word out to our fellow collectors about this guy in Chino Hills, CA. It's a small community and unfortunately we didn't make the previous situation well known enough to warn others about Q/CHAPIN. Don't buy anything from babygq14 on ebay, don't buy anything from his booth at Frank and Sons in CA, and be very suspicious about new members here selling these and other head castings.

Positives are good. I'm leaning towards that. And of course, I would never sell the piece. I think the best way is to create the bash as if it is an authentic head and wait for one to surface.

Righto. :hi5:

Fair enough guys each to there own :). There's just no place for recasts and knock offs in my collection even as placeholders. I've spent about $1000 on the 2 figure bashes these heads where intended for (had they been the real deal) but still doesn't make much difference to me a knock off is a knock off and I want rid ASAP.

Much respect for that attitude. It's a shame that Q can't be cut off from the sources of these sculpts. Rainman in particular, it would be nearly impossible. It's a little easier to police the boards.

Well I and I am sure many other now have his address and first name. Surely they could be passed onto RM, Velvet Morning, Iminime and he could be removed as a member from any of the above sites?

You could, but that data can easily be changed, and there's no way of those artists vetting their buyers before selling to them through their websites.

It would at least make it more somewhat more difficult for him. :dunno
Again, the more of us who know about this jerk and alert others, the more difficult it will be for him to conduct his crooked business.

I got an email back basically if I want my money back I have to return them to him and I have to pay for the return postage

Will of course have to return tracked no chance I'd trust him to be honest as to whether they actually got back to him or not without tracking and that's expensive here in the UK. For me to return them is gonna set me back about $15-20 what a ******* ********. Not happy I have to pay for the fact hes a lying, cheating little.....

Nevermind lesson learned eh lol

I am going to destroy the sculpt methinks. I just don't know if I could happily display it. :(

You can deny the delivery. You have the address and just post on your door/box that you do not accept deliveries from that address, and send it back.
