So I was just thinking.............where does the great man go from here? RM has had a good run over the last few years with cult, iconic characters. I am struggling to think of many more that would appeal to the masses as well as RM.

I would really love to see RM tackle H. Ford, either in the form of Indy or Deckard.

Deckard would be nice.

Without turning this into the RM interest thread I also wonder whats next? I think he's out of "widely popular" cult characters

U guys think there's going to be any quality issues with the amount??

Let's hope not. That was always my concern with having this open-ended. I trust RM to not drop the standards we have come to expect. It will therefore likely increase the production time quite dramatically. Snake and I suggested to one another that we would be lucky to have these in-hand much before May/June.

There were quality issues with the restock and also Bill version two so I think it's inevitable to a certain extent. I think with handmade items there is always that risk for quality control everything cannot be exactly alike and perfect. I don't see what the difference will be if he takes his time to do this one figure for the next however months

I can't speak for the restock but I think the problems with Bill were that it was a rushed project all together. Rainman was still working on a private job and this was just a way to let the fans know he was not gone. The figure was great but you can tell not much love and care went into like his other releases. It was something quick and easy for an artist of his caliber. I belive this Shining set will be the real deal we are accustomed to!

Agreed. I consider this release to almost define the end of an era for RM. I am genuinely interested from this point onwards.

I believe Rainman knows what our fans wants! i'm sure he will do his best to keep our fans happy. Lets hope lol!
But how can he paint 500 pieces of Head??? lol .. looking forward to my Full set something like 30/500.. ~_~

This.
It was stated from the get-go that Torrance was put on hold for Lee to do private customs and also get v2 out for us fans to have another figure while we wait.
I agree with mags that this one will have a different feel much like previous releases as apposed to v2 - which was more or less a rehash.

Rainmans new project: Overlook Caretaker

I would like to see him do something that's hideous and grotesque. Isn't he a huge horror fan why can you do something like Freddy Kruger?

The exorcist

Duke and Gonzo need the RM treatment. I still think theres tons of characters lee could do as limited or 24 hour run releases.

My collection consists of a lot of lower end and a couple of higher (read, "much higher!") end figures. And they come from all spectrums of "life": Pop culture, movies, Sci-fi and even military). I buy because of likenesses, mostly. A case in point? I recently bought the Dam Toys M247 gunner...because the sculpt is based on "Animal Mother" from "Full Metal Jacket"! Yes...I'm quite mad like that. It's the aesthete in me, I guess.
The twins are a more "interpretive" take rather than a definitive likeness, but they carry menace, and are rich in pop culture subtext. Stand alone, they speak volumes...
Point I'm making? I don't care if a figure has cost me $90 or $3500 (don't ask) - I bought them because I loved how they looked to me. I'm nearly 50. I won't be selling them to make some money down the track (but I don't begrudge those that do). I bought them for the simple "big-kid" joy of just, well...looking at them!
They give me joy!

Here, here. A true collector at heart.

Would love a Eli Sunday, to pair with Milkshake Man.

Those are good choices but dont fit with his past choices. He's done mostly "iconic" cult characters, Fear and Loathing imo, doesn't fall in the same category as Alex, Bickle, or Torrance

Never going to happen. That was the point I was trying to make essentially. Catering for the masses whilst keeping it cult and iconic is going to be a tough job from here on in. Like I say, I am genuinely interested from this point onwards.

I think the majority of us here are like that, eh Phine?

Next project for RM? SOMETHING...ANYTHING - I DON'T WANT!!!
Here are some suggestions:
Roseanne Barr;
Chris Martin;
Sonny Bono;
Prime Minister Bille Hughes;
Someone playing badminton;
Elvis' pool cleaning guy;
Me;
A Tele-Tubby;
A fat, naked guy eating a sandwich; and/or
One of the Von-Trapp kids.

Lee, if you're reading, any of the above will keep my wallet happy. Cheers, m.
