I think the skin tone is way off on the figure. And the dark line around the eyes should be more of a flesh color.
I like the head sculpt- looks just like him. Especially the skin around his chin.

I agree that Rainman is trying to do the best he can. From my view, Willy Wonka is such an iconic figure, the figure is not as feature specific as the Bill or the Dude, it just doesn't catch his iconic look. If anyone can make it look right, it would be Rainman. He is the most talented sculptor I have ever seen.

Well I love it!

I also agree with every word Kara said :goodpost:

I am sure this will be tweaked to perfection, in Rainman I trust :)

Ok little update fellas

Just speaking to Rainman and he is feeling down about the negativity regarding Wonka :monkey2

He wants to get this perfect for you guys he really does!

We spoke about your concerns and Rainman will address the 'bulk' in the hair. Willy is getting a hair cut :lol

I have also mentioned the colour of the top hat would be better if it was closer to the 141 Saddle colour patch below.

Lastly Rainman will address the coat material with his tailor. The production coat will be more accurate :)

All sounding good Teddy, guess I will keep my order. :duff

Hope the paintwork has more 'life' for the production pieces too. This is so far lacking the Rainman magic for me at present on the face/eyes.

Is there any chance Rainman will postpone the pre-order date. It REALLY is too soon, without seeing these revisions.
Announced 10/6.....Released 10/30??? C'mon!
This figure was really more like a beginning of the year (January) type of project.

Also no mention of how the hat makes it look too much like a "toy" is the flocking going to be taken into consideration?

I think this is a wise idea and was going to suggest it myself.

A lot of people would like to see the revised proto before making payment/ordering.

I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer myself, it would allow me an extra paycheck so this would be more affordable. Heck even 3 extra days would allow me to put it on my credit card instead.

Rainman said it's gonna be a very expensive set. As a potential buyer, I think this figure would deserve some more mods before to be on sale.

Don't get me wrong, this is awesome, the sculpt is great, the quality top notch as always. But the hair is really a problem for me, the hat would be better with a flocking process for sure. I also think something is wrong with the skin color, which makes the eyes look really REALLY blue.

If something is done to improve the hair and colors, it's gonna be as impressive as Bill. Great work ! (again)

Wow, I was just planing on getting the head and clothing set for this one, but now I'm thinking I may need a DX....

Any ideas what the price break down will be and what's included in what sets?

I also assume that full sets go on sale the 30th and then a few days later the clothing and head sets correct?

Looking over it now when I'm not half asleep I think the color of the coat and hat are the biggest problem as already mentioned.
I clone stamped the color of his coat from a film still and here it is. Might help Rainman a little.
I think the Jokers coat is a very similar color.

Wonka's hair looks better already.
