Rambo 4 1/6 figure(We need you Hot Toys)

All things considered, this piece, painted nicely by say Sideshow, would probably cost double what it does, so you're getting paint apps up to the level of the price.

As for individually painted, there could be a team of painters, all it really has to mean is that someone sat with each statue and hand painted it versus and assembly line running dozens off at a time.

I just got this staute today. I have to agree with the fact that the face features aren't great but for the price point it's very nice. I would rate it an 8.5. I only paid $135 for mine. The face could easily pass for the Sly of 1988 and Rambo III.

I have a question. When they say that something is individually painted, does that really mean that one guy painted all 500 statues I just thought that the paint job should have had a little more detail and some more blood on it, especially his wounds and the blood on the knife. I guess if they added more detail we be paying $250+ for it.

Maulfan thanks for answering my question. Now that I have this Rambo statue I really don't see anything Rambo or Rocky coming out for a while, if ever, I hope am wrong.

I've been collecting a lot of Rocky collectibles so when Rocky Balboa was released in 2006 I was very happy to see all the new Rocky collectibles, but I think it's come to an end. I guess I should be happy with what I was able to add to my collection in the last 3 years.

As far as Rambo goes, Sly doing Rambo V, so there should be a lot of Rambo stuff coming out when that film is released.

Rock83 Sorry cameras needs to be repaired, but if you're a huge fan of Rambo you can't go wrong with this statue. $135 or $145 is a steal. Once these statues are sold out, I wonder what they'll be selling for on Ebay

Rocky and Rambo is basically what i collect,Knives,statues,figures,Jakks Action figures,Paintings etc,almost anything related to Rocky/Rambo but when it comes to statues im very picky,if this was a figure id get it right away,you can bend and play with it.

Nope, I'm not expecting much, THOUGH, last year at Toy Fair, and actually previewed from Hot Toys before that, we got the Rambo 3 bust, so I'm crossing fingers.

Sadly, I think the most we'll do is make them take a look at their numbers and consider it, if they haven't already, but bottom line they'll look at costs and sales and where M65 Jacket and Rambo bust came in for numbers, use that to gauge support, figure out what it'd cost to produce the figure and go from there, and unfortunately, this site is just a VERY small fraction of their customer base, so as much as it seemed the bust and M65 were a hit here, hard to say how it did overall. I thought the Hot Toys POTC line was going strong and in the end they felt it wasn't worthwhile to make even 1 more character for it. I still don't understand why they made the Rocky 3 figure, except maybe to get one out there with a fresh Yulli sculpt after the positive feedback her Rambo 3 and M65 got.

Yeah i feel the same way about not completing a line of the necessery characters.

Rocky:Rocky himself will sell very good,Go Fight gears from Rocky 1(BD),Rocky 2 and Rocky Balboa.The Training gear from Rocky 1 and Rocky IV.
Now these would sell good no doubt but HT doesnt seem to do other lines than the ones that have huge interests,its all about money,nothing else.Didnt they release 3 predators for AVP:R?1 clean and 1 BD,then 1 with cleaner kit?The third cleaner kit version wasnt necessery,it just shows that money is what everyone seems to care about.

Terminator Salvation is Hot Toys next project,and i have the feeling they will get The Watchmen license too so most likely they dont care for more Rocky or Rambo but Rambo have always sold good so its easy money for them too.

Hot Toys is very play it safe. As far as figure quality they're tops, but as far as practices, you can't beat Sideshow. Yeah Sideshow doesn't finish lines when support isn't there enough, but when they do lines, they're not afraid to make characters outside the group of sure fire sellers. They've made half a dozen background and no name guys in the Star Wars line, Hot Toys would never touch them if they had the line.

I'm hoping the last few Rambo figures sold well enough, if they did, I believe his absence is tied to the body and with Dutch's new one, they have it now so there's nothing they can't do or need for a RAMBO that's not at their disposal. A body just for Rambo and Rocky in their recent films might not be worth it, but they can use it for Dutch now, maybe even 2 versions, they could use it for Rambo, they could do an old Rocky, probably other muscle guys it has use for. Time to act HT, time to act. I'd think Yulli would enjoy the task of capturing the war aging in a portrait of old Rambo. Stallone did a good job of presenting himself not just as an old man but a man worn from everything he's been through.

Making a Body for Rocky and Rambo is worth it,the time they use for a headsculpt they can use for making a new body so if they think its not worth it just because its only usefull for 2 figures is lazyness if you ask me.

Sideshow is great,they make all kinds of stuff but when it comes to 1/6 Hot Toys will always be the best,they just miss a bunch of licenses.

Way I see it, Hot Toys is best as figure makers, Sideshow is best as a business.

I don't think Hot Toys is lazy, I just think they're not willing to put resources into something unless they feel the return for their work and investment is worthwhile, which is most business but Hot Toys seems to really stick with the security of the sure fire thing, I've never seen them make a figure that makes me think wow, you wouldn't think they've have luck selling it but theyr'e trying. They make super main stream characters and rehashes of them and that's it, and only touch upon older properties where it peaks their interest and looks to have the support of modern properties. I'd wager old Rocky and Rambo struck them as not worth their time, but if they panned out more uses for the same body, they'd consider it. Rocky would be very cheap to do, it's a body, shoes, shorts and a robe on top of the head sculpt, and knowing HT the hands would just be recycled from the other Rocky figures.

Rocky83 I was really looking forward to a Rocky 1 fight gear in the red and gold robe, Rocky II fight gear battle damged and the one Rocky fig that would've made my collection would've been a Rocky 1 street collector fig. Jakks street collector fig was ok, but that's a 6 inch plastic $8 fig. A training gear with Butkas the dog would have been great to. At this point it doesn't look good.

You know the accessories for HT Rocky line were great but if HT can make those really expensive Batpod and Batmobile they could certainly make a Rocky Italian Stallion motorcycle. To bad none of figs I mentioned well ever see the light of day
