The Clown Prince of Crime
Super Freak
Rambo kind of went downhill after First Blood. Part II is such a cartoon thanks to Cameron. It's pretty much what he did to the Alien franchise too. But at least Part II is entertaining in a goofy super-hero kind of way. Part 4 was good because of the violence and gore, really made it feel real and important. Like 3, 5 will be forgotten and rarely referenced except in the negative.
Some of the most well known Rambo iconography comes from part III, even his ""I'm (not said in film) Your worst nightmare" catch phrase. I really don't get the hate. I have my reasons for not liking it, primarily the desert setting, but as an action movie, it's not bad. It's the biggest of the franchise, the most epic, most expensive film ever made at the time, and the set pieces are impressive. It might also be the best looking film of the series. I just hate deserts, but Stallone never looked better and once the action kicks in, it doesn't stop until a very epic climax involving a game of chicken between a tank and a helicopter. They went all out in that film, even Stallone almost got killed in it.
I don't know if Rambo 5 will be forgotten, since it now has an underdog syndrome going on. People seem to be defending it more and more. Time will tell. If this film makes money, then a part 6 is almost inevitable.
