I have to respectfully dissagree there. Jason may of had some mommy issues but imo he was anything but dumb. I've said this in other threads, but Jason wasn't stupid if you really think about it. In TFC he broke Rob's rifle so he couldn't use it against him, he knows to how to set up traps and place bodies in areas knowing his victims will find them to intimitdate and terrorize them and he knows to cut powerlines and set off fire alarms to throw victims into a panic. Not the traits of someone who is dumb. That being said I give the remake an 8/10 myself. It grows on me a little more each time I watch it.
Anyways last movie I watched was Halloween (1978) 10/10
I think the reason I liked it so much was because of how smart they made him whereas in the originals he was plain dumb and gullible. I am of course a HUGE fan of the originals and DO still enjoy part 1 (1980) more than the remake but overall this version had many positives to it.
You didn't have to wait 2 1/2 films to finally see him in his iconic mask. Again he was alot smarter and somewhat "set up" his victims strategically. His size made more sense to his monsterous power or monster like presence.
Meh, it could have been worse, they could have implemented a "Hillbilly" introduction to the child known as Jason Voorhees.
Overall i'd rate them this way:
Part 1 8/10
Part 2 7/10
Part 3 7/10
Part 4 8.5/10
Remake 8/10

Raw Deal - 7/10
An average 80's action flick. But since Arnie is in it, I have to add 1 point. Just because he's so awesome.
Saving Private Ryan - 8/10
It was a while since I last saw it, and it's still fantastic. Great film overall.
Highlander - 8/10
My first viewing. Awesome. I have a feeling I will like this the more I watch it.
I also saw Quarantine last night. It was alright. Nothing really frightening. 5/10.

Robin Hood (Disney): 8/10 One of my favorite Disney animation films I just love the way how it is drawn and how the characters look in animal forms.

Well I didn't mean it as a hit against the 80's movies, just in comparison to the originals he seemed quite dumb. Like if the remake never happened I would think differently on the matter but since it does now exist and only in comparison I feel this way.
There were too many times in the originals where he was fooled into some trap or getting setup for a good ol' bump in the back of the head. Just my 2 cents .............. there is nothing in film that I watch more than the original Fridays. I still love them of course.

I liked the remake WAY better than 5 and 8, 5 was just absolutely terrible. I would have to rewatch 6 and 7 to see where it ranks with those.

I definitely wouldn't say the best, it doesn't beat 1-4 in my opinion BUT the intro to the remake was AMAZING that is what made it a very good movie for me.

Didnt like what they did to him..This movie could have been so much more.And He was a bit too intelligeant for my taste...I like my Mongoloid Freak a bit more dumb...And the overall feel and story of the movie felt average.I'm a big fan of the franchise and this movie didnt do nothing for me.
