Beasts of no nation - 8/10 dragged a bit, and I felt the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Idris Elba and the kid were too damn good though, score was good too.

Wow, I thought the ending was amazing. Agu's speech at the end was heartbreaking. I definitely think they were both snubbed this year at pretty every award show.

I think I expected a little more closure, unsatisfactory endings are a struggle for me. Unsatisfactory =/= bad.

Perhaps I don't mean the ending, but the lead up to the ending.
The way the commandant just lets them go. Perhaps it was too sober for me.

I think I'm being a bit too harsh on it, will definitely need to see it again. It does feel like a solid 8.

It was my favorite movie of the year, but the scene you described I felt the same, I totally wanted Abu to shoot him but I kind of liked that he didn't since I was totally expecting it.

By the way, what's your favorite movie of 2015?

Yeah, I suppose we're both spoiled by Hollywood manufactured "redemption". But yeah the entire narration by Agu was pretty nice and poignant, ah what the hell! I'm giving it an 8 :lol

I'm gonna have to go with Sicario. Hands down for me.

Agreed :lol

Sicario and The Martian are the only two major films I haven't watched this year. I'll definitely get to it this weekend. Beasts of No Nation and Steve Jobs were my two favs of the year, but I have a feeling Sicario will probably edge out Steve Jobs.

The Big Short was also up there for me.

Haven't watched the Martian, it's on my list, I've heard tons of good stuff about it.

I don't know man, if you liked Beasts of no nation, Sicario might take the cake for you too.

The Martian....7.5/10...... Maybe even 8. Predictable in places, but really enjoyable.

American Psycho 10/10 This is a perfect movie. Paul Allen's death scene is one of the best of all time.
