Fright Night '85. 7.5/10
This is easily a 9 for me. It's probably my most favorite vampire themed movie ever.
It's a good vampire movie. No doubts there... and I'm sure I graded it higher years ago.
I still enjoy it today, but it just doesn't have the same appeal any more.
Now, I like my vampire movies to be dark, gritty, and very little to no comedic moments.
I know I'm in the minority, but I very much enjoyed the style of 30 Days of Night.
The vampires were very animalistic in their behavior but yet, showed intelligence when they hunted. They didn't care to look clean and mingle with humans. They just wanted to feed. The movie didn't bother with the typical lore either. So no holy water, no reflection in the mirror, no being burned by contact with a cross. However, they did portray sunlight as being damaging, but that shows that they're a night creature.
I'd like to see more of this type of vampires. The Anne Rice vampires are old school.

My girl had that on the other night. Chris Sarandon was great. Can't believe he willingly banged Marcy D'Arcy.
