Legion- "Maybe god was tired of all the bull____"...or maybe the bull____ movies. 2/10

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Sherlock Holmes 8/10

Really enjoyable film, Downey Jnr is superb as Holmes and Law is superb as Watson, great chemistry between them.

Mark Strong proves once again hes an underrated and underused actor!

I found the film slow in parts but other than that a really good start to what i imagine will become a big franchise :)

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Yeah the Prophecy is one of my favorite movies. It sucks that not many people have seen or heard of it too.

~~Thanks!! Bamboota made if for me. I got tired of seeing all the 80s cartoon nerds flaunting their sigs, so I put out a request for 80s action heroes sig.

:goodpost:

Love the movie and the signature.

Ahhh the movies of my youth ! ! ! Love that era. Just mindless action fun !

Who cares about anything else !

a few years ago when "the rundown" came out, i thought we might see an eventual return to that era. i was all excited. the rock wasn't a great actor, but he had some of that massive 80s presence and it was good mindless action, reminiscent of a lot of classics. he needed time to develop into the role (hell, arnie even "passed the torch" at the beginning of the movie). but after "walking tall" he just did terrible film after terrible film, followed by lame kid's movies. wasted opportunity for an entire generation to have a slight taste of what made 80's cinema so fun i think.

people are pinning their hopes on "expendables" but i have a feeling sly might have gone into "intelligence" mode for this one. i hope i'm wrong and it kicks ass. i saw the new universal soldier movie a couple weeks ago and they did what i feared - tried to make it sophisticated, "arty violence". objectively, it made for a better film maybe, but not fun at all like the original.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li 1/10

Yes it was that bad.... Kristen Kreuk, Michale Clarke Duncan, and Chris Klein should be shot after that disaster.

The only thing to give it a 1 is Moon Bloodgood, and it's not for her acting either. :p

Collateral 10/10. As much as I find Tom Cruise personally obnoxious, I actually tend to like his movies. This one is among his best. Vincent is a truly badass character.

Extra credit to Cruise for being able to fire an HK USP 45 without flinching ... not many actors can fire a .45 without flinching ...

Some are better at this than others ...

I agree... I had high hopes for him, then he took a turn. Not understanding that.

I hope expendable does not fall short. It may spark the era again.

I had not seen the new Soldier... man I was hoping it would not do that.

I'm headed to a gun show this weekend to get the HK P30 -- went to a range to test one this weekend. Fantastic weapon. The USPC 45 or HK45C is next on my list.

Yeah I thought the Rock would be bringing back the cheesy action films from the 80s. Now it seems that he's sticking with Disney to pay his bills.

~~I agree with you SnakeDoc about Cruise. He's a wacko, but you cannot deny his awesomeness to make great movies. I hate when people (myself included) refuse to watch or even acknoledge an movie because of their personal feelings towards the actors or actresses off the screen.

Have fun with your new toy you're picking up. Hopefully I'll be picking one up in a couple months as well.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Hello. Tonight (or day depending on where you are) I will be reviewing:

PLANET HULK.

I watched it a couple of days ago & have been struggleing with digesting it. Guys i wont lie to you, this one was really strange to rate. For all you who think I hate on all films & go in with a negative attitude......well your about to learn that i do indeed have the ability to see a film for all its merits as well as faults. Planet Hulk opens with Hulk being shot into space to an unpopulated planet my Tony Stark & other Marvel Heros. Oh yeah in case you have'nt figured it out yet this review is gonna have tons of spoilers.....but who are we kidding the flims been out for quite a while now.

So after a mishap to his ship, he crashes on the wrong planet. A planet that is enslaved by a dictator (are we sure this is'nt Earth lol). So after the Hulk gets shot with this "disc" that dose for him what Gene Wilder did for Frankenstine in Young Frankenstine (did I get that title right?). Well either way, Hulk has a rational mind now.

Peopel.........I really gotta say I have a strange love hate take on this mind disc thing. Its good that we get to see the Hulk in a mode that dose not entail PURE & UTTER RAGE!! BUT......& theres a big but. You just can't up & change the very core concept of a major Marvel character like the Incredible Hulk just because you the writer want to do something new with him & at current his character just dose'nt fit you script image! that is BU.LL S-IT!!

BBBUUUTTT! And here is where the "pendulum" swing so hard to the other side of the argument, that it tends to make a hippocrite of me. The Hulk.....this character they....."infuse" him with, well IT WORKS! It was a masterful balancing act that TRULY REQUIRED MAJOR VOICE ACTING TALENT! He said just enough in his lines. Not too much, & not too little. & normally I'd cry foul when I see huge Arnold Swartzze______ Connan types playing "the strong & silent roll", But damn it I really gotta give it to Marvel on this one, They pulled it off with master skill.

Ok lets talk annimation (thank GAWD that turd Arrow from TNI is'nt here to belittle any & all who dare defy his observations as a so called animater). Any way, Marvel both lost & gained points in this dept. DC was already up to 24 frames a second while this.......well this simply was not. The whole Gladiator thing was all very predictable & the art work brought nothing new to the table.

However the villiage scene where much more interesting! Marvel was not squimish about slashing, mutilating, brutal, & bloody deaths. We didn't see this from DC till they pulled a punk ass b1tch move by making Wonder Woman a blood bath all out of fear the star of the movie was a woman & didn't want the movie ending up next to the corny ass CGI Barbie movies in the dvd racks.

Any way. The desert scene WAS SOOO BEAUTIFUL, THE BEST IN THE WHOLE MOVIE. Now do you see why i said this movie was so strange for me to rate? Like who the hell thinks of an Incredibal Hulk animated movie being....."beautiful"?? But never the less......it was. It was something about the mussel bound newly awoken "hero" that just seemed......captivating set againt that alien desert night sky. & his semi love interest....again strange yet it worked some how due the the talent of the voice actor.

I forgot the chicks name that Hulk......you know what. The term "love interest" is just all wrong here. The dymanic was so much more than just your run of the mill love story. The was Hulk pulled away from friendship AND love shows the hurt & vulnerablity to him that gets conveyed in a non gay or corny way. Again this is a tribute to great talent of acting and script writing.

THE SPIKES RETURN!! Hulks' nemisis/love interest snatched a small child from being killed in a brutal canabal fashion from her infected parents. Our hero saves the little girl are is going well fending off the infected population. It was heart breaking to see the woman worrior kill the parents of the child she has protected in her arms.

and then the unthinkable happens...............the alien nuk hits.

She tells the toddler to just shut her eyes & everything will be ok........maybe the warrior believes it, or maybe not. She tries to carry the child to safty after the bomb's shock wave washes over them..........the little girls corps fall to ashes in ht e warriors arms as tears fall down her face.

Peopel this was a great script!!! NEVER THE LESS!! As good as it maybe, it still dose not justify the slap to Marvel character continuity by having the Hulk in such a movie...........or dose it????

Well this time I'll let you be the judge. As for me, I give this movie 4 stars out of 5. It lost points with sub par animation, and warping the Hulk character much too far from the root of his element. I mean for crying out loud the Hulk fell asleep mulitpul times AND NEVER CHANGED IN TO BANNER!!!!!!!!

And don't feed me any of that alien planet affect crap either. The movie simply had unresloved issued.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Edge of Darkness....6/10. Typical revenge movie with a "political" twist. Mel Gibson did a great job, but the dialogue is horrible and none of the other actors did anything spectacular. I liked this movie, but I prefer Taken over this one.
