The awkward camera angles are what made RE challenging and engaging.

Like the angle when you enter the hallway right before you fight the first Licker in RE2. The camera is aimed at Leon/Claire but it's in perspective from outside the window like it's looking at you.

Takes me back when RE use to be fun.

I miss save slots...checkpoints are not good for horror games. It takes out all of the intensity. Instead of "oh god I can't die here...when did I last save? shoot so long ago! I can't die here! I'll go so far back!"

Now it's just "meh if I die, I'll just start at the entrance of this room and be right as rain..doo dee doo"

Not only do you start back at the checkpoint, you start back with full life

its a total jip

it encourages you to die on purpose so you never need to use a green herb

Yeah, RE6 was the first and hopefully the last one to do this. It's just another example of how games these days hold the players hand.

Back in my day if I was stuck and couldn't progress, I either kept at it until i could advance and got a sense of accomplishment, or I reloaded a previous save and "suffered" through a part I already did...and that was punishing the players, giving them incentive to try harder. Youngins these days...it's all checkpoint this and CHECKPOINT that! poppycock! (please read previous paragraph in old man voice)

This game is just awful and a disgrace to the name "Resident Evil". It lacks story, the heroes are so confused the don't know what they are doing and why they are where they are, zombies are a comedy and not something to fear and the great villain is just as laughable as he is tragic in the worst way at the same time. I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry because of my frustration playing this totally bad game as far as it concerns the brand "RE".
I was hoping to end it as fast as possible because I couldn't stand it.

Capcom would better consider stop producing and developing RE seriously.

Well that 's about all lol

:exactly:

There are so many descriptions of this terrible terrible game. It cannot get any worse from this point, but Capcom might surprise us.

I cant wait the 5 or so weeks for Revelations. A real survival feel. Back to Chris and Jill, T virus, old school monsters and the final boss is a badass looking

Tyrant

I remember I played Revelations on easy, I believe, maybe normal.. but it was hard either way. Part of that could have been the 3DS platform, but it was a really fun game and I enjoyed the difficulty.

I remember my first playthrough of Code Veronica, by the time I got to the final fight with Alexia, I was so low on ammo it was impossible to finish the game and the only other save point I had was right before the fight with the Tyrant on the plane so i had to redo like half the game.

That's what made the originals so great! You have to handgun it most of the game and only use shotgun shells and above only on priority enemies.

When was this confirmed?

supposedly.... :wink1:

What Project said :lecture

Yeah, I had a similar instance in the caves in the first RE. I was low on ammo, low on health, and those Hunters tore me up every time.Ii suuuucked, and my last save point before that was just prior to when you went to the guardhouse. So I had to do that whole segment all over. But it taught me to save often and have multiple files...see I learned something. :lol I valued that lesson throughout the RE series. Until they started using checkpoints... :monkey2

:lol yup to this day I always finish most RE's with tons of Magnum and Grenade launcher ammo.
