spock and uhura were together because it's a totally separate time line, and anyway, who cares.
i would ask about the "plot holes"... but judging by your attitude, you just didn't pay attention.

At that point in Spocks like/career that the movie occurs in Spock was focused on being the Uber Vulcan.
To be more controlled,stoic and logical a Vulcan then a full blooded Vulcan.
Not only to show up Sarek but all the Vulcans who thought so little of the "half breed" child.
Spock wouldnt have "fraternized" with a student of his let alone a fellow "human" officer.
That was explicitly brought up in "This side of Paradise".
Did you forget when Spock admitted he was ashamed when he felt friendship for Kirk in "The Naked Time"?
But yet he'd have no problem tapping Uhura? What happened to T'pring?
Oh,thats right. Its a reboot. Anything goes.

Uhura was always the flirt as the clips from Dinolast shows but thats it.

I'll match my Trek cred against yours any day.
Its been honed by hrs alone in my mothers basement watching first runs, reruns, reading concordances,combing through blue prints and technical manuals.

So, all your hours spent in your mom's basement with your one handed appreciation of your own Trek cred don't mean diddly when it comes to this movie.

Its only an alternate timeline post-Nero though. Anything happening before Neros timeline changes should have proceeded exactly as it did in the original Trek universe so I can see Spartan Rex's point. And arguably things happening after the changes need not have proceeded differently than original Trek-verse either depending on how 'close' or not they were to when and where the changes happened.

Everything in that movie is an altered timeline, the moment the movie starts it's altered, you get like 2 mintues of unaltered Trek universe and the other 2 hours leaves behind the past.

On the Spock/Uhura thing I don't see how anything Nero did would have any impact there...so if Spartan Rex is saying it shouldn't happen, and he has argued convincingly why it shouldn't, I believe him. Having said that I don't particularly care.

We don't know everything that was changed by Nero's presence.

It's all conjecture, just like your argument that nothing should change...just conjecture.

Doesnt affect my view of the tos at all, it does help form the opinion that the movie was a steaming pile helmed by a director that has a woody for lens flares.
