Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I love the look of it. I feel they have captured the OT. Only problem is is that it now uses modern filming, blocking and camera techniques. I guess that can't be helped. Mendelssohn looks awesome. Looks like he's some kind of grand admiral.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

As much as some people are excited to see AT-ATs, that's one of my big problems with this.

These prequel movies kill much of the impact of the OT. The AT-AT was an amazing REVEAL vehicle in Empire. When that rebel on Hoth looks through the binoculars and spots those tiny walkers, then we see the Speeders race out to attack, and then the movie reveals how BIG and menacing they are, lurking through the snow. What an awesome surprise!

Now, when someone see Empire, that moment is GONE.

DO NOT use characters and vehicles that were REVEALS in the OT. If you're going to make prequel movies, don't damage the impact these things made in the OT!

This is nothing more than a super size fan film!

This makes absolutely no sense.

I think it looks great! Feels like the OT for sure and love seeing stormtroopers, walkers, star destroyers, etc. I do wish we could have male lead again though.

You make no sense.

It's like opening a birthday gift when you already know what's in it.

Yeah. No problem with Rey (or even this character, really)... but it's really starting to stink of contrived Identity Politics.

thank you- bet Young Han Solo movie will feature female sidekick...you watch...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I really liked it, but I'm already getting very tired of a forced female lead.

That was my first thought when I saw the trailer as well. Seems like pc pandering but I'll still watch and like the movie of course

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

I have absolutely no, zero, zilch problem with female leads. Not a single one. Not even an inkling of a feeling of one. If the character is well written (as Rey was and as Jen appears to be), then I see no reason for caring.

Zero F's given towards the gender of the lead.

I have no problem with a female lead, if it's a real flawed character and not a Mary Sue like Rey.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)

Well, this movie already looks one million times better than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so there is that.

I have no problem with another female lead (two in a row for those counting), but the way the dialogue is written for the character, actress looks about 15 years too old to play the part. Or is she just a really immature 38 year old....? I dunno

Looks OK to me. Seems like more of the same that we got with TFA, minus as many familiar faces obviously. I don't care so much for the nostalgia-drive prequel thing that they have going on. But it could be a fun Guns of Navarone type movie in space.

Forest Whitaker looks and sounds like something out of KRULL :(

Everything else looks awesome, though.
I'm confused. Didn't you mean to post:

Forest Whitaker looks and sounds like something out of KRULL :fireworks:fest:duff:blissy

My 3 and 6 year old have infiltrated the forum! :lol

Apology grudgingly accepted.
