Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (12/16/16)
In a day and age when information is tailored to an individuals ideology, so that little can penetrate their own personal belief bubble, is it any wonder that people become hostile when presented with different opinions in their entertainment? People have grown more and more resistant to any contrary point of view and become so incensed at the slightest challenge. We are in an age of stilted intellectualism, we have unprecedented access to information, yet brains are turning to mush. People deny science when it contradicts what they wish to believe, because our egos have been massaged to the point that we have the temperament of little children. When was the last time in history society was like this? Reminds me of the struggles that faced Aristotle, Copernicus and Galileo.
So if people are hostile to science with contrarian views, of course their baby brains will be upset when faced with art that isnt tailored to their particular opinions. What happened to seeking out intellectual and ideological challenges in order to grow? Society makes me sick. I pray the day never comes when our art is also tailored to fit each individuals narrow viewpoint.
