I think all the villains in the Nolan films were pretty good. I enjoyed the whole trilogy quite a bit on a recent rewatch despite the fact I had been on a bit of an anti-Nolan bandwagon for a while.

Good man- I found Bane alot more menacing in his scenes with Batman than Ra's was in BB

I still think that second fight with Batman and Bane was very underwhelming but Bane himself was great. Looked cool, acted like he was 7 foot tall and had the best lines. Personally I loved the voice.

Leto never had a chance really. Hampered by following Ledger and by the current iteration of the DC film universe which, rightly or wrongly, has an awful reputation.

Yeah. I can see where they were going with the 'new' bling'd-out Joker but truthfully I think they picked the wrong actor. They went too glam. If you go with glam clothing, I think you need a more 'ugly' mug so to speak -- a frightening face decorated ridiculously would have been cool.

I, like many, always felt Willem Dafoe would have made a great Joker at one time long ago.

And "So you came back to die with your people" will forever be the setup for Batman's greatest fall. No other villain has those particular bragging rights.

"No, I came to stop you!!" (I got him!)

*everyone stops fighting and look at Bats*

But he redeemed himself with the "Then you have my permission to die" line.

RO will still make $500 million easily here and that is amazing- a letdown from TFA but stunning in success anyway. Yes TFA was the only one that will garner that kind of top box office - one time thing. Ep VIII will top RO for various reasions but the decline will begin with Han movie- not because it may not be great but because one-a-year SW will wear thin fast with audiences.

3rd viewing of RO last night!!! It gets even better with multiple viewings. I felt more emotion this time, especially at the end because of Carrie :(. Its sad too because they thanked her in the end credits. :(

Tarkin still looks great to me, pretty amazed by it. And still Leia looks good. I just read they only superimposed her digital face on the actress, the young woman who played her is a Norwegian actress, Ingvild Deila. Guy Henry played Tarkin. He was Pius Thicknesse in Harry Potter.

UPDATE: nevermind. found the script. he doesn't mention ancient jedi, he was talking about Baze. He said "Baze Malbus was once the most devoted Guardian of us all."

Well who hasn't seen Batman '89. If I was Batman I'd have stolen that line too.

Meh, too obvious, imo. Nolan had a lot of references to previous versions of Batman through out his trilogy, but the "I'm Batman" was the worst, imo. It almost takes you out of the film and it becomes like a fan film instead of its own movie.

He also stole Rachel's silly line about it's what I do that defines me. Shoulda been called Parrotman.

That's a great line :thwak

He also stole Ra's "You never learned to mind your surroundings" line.

Gordon and Alfred were lucky that Bats didn't take their memorable lines too. :lol
