Wow, I just had the epiphany that the battle droids were made to resemble the Geonosians! I'm sure I'm really late to the game on this one, so be gentle with me.

I recently had the same epiphany!

The Trade Federation aliens were originally going to look like the Geonosians so that the Battle Droids were made in their image but I believe George abandoned the idea because he wasn't prepared to do yet another CG race in TPM. So he revisited the idea when making AOTC.

I remember the TPM Visual Dictionary saying they were modelled on the "desiccated corpses" of Neimoidians. I could kinda see that, but the Geonosian resemblance is stronger. Nice to see droids being made in alien, not human, images.

Are they still doing an obi wan stand alone film? That should fill in what happened while he was on Tatooine.

The new canon SW comic is doing that already.

I loved that. When imagination was stirred by the thought of things unseen and unknown... In the first two films, there were so many mysteries: The Emperor, Jabba, Vader's past with Ben, Ord Mandell, Dantooine, Coruscant...

But now, the entire Skywalker universe has been explained to death... to the point that it keeps getting re-explained and changing...

... now, I'm just lost. My imagination is no longer stirred. Instead, my aggravation is peaked because of too much retconning.

Since Lucasfilm just killed off the EU, there is no canon to me. They can just change it, kill it or ruin something at any point to make some more money. We can still get more Star Wars without sacrificing mystery and integrity.

I always imagined the Clone Wars as some mysterious war with people cloning themselves to some end. Seemed very mysterious instead of an obvious two-sides. Too much saturation now. Everything needs to be explained for the sake of that sweet, sweet dolla bills.

Since Lucasfilm just killed off the EU, there is no canon to me. They can just change it, kill it or ruin something at any point to make some more money.

It's not something they did lightly, and I doubt they'd do it again, since they set up a special division to keep everything consistent. So it's the best time ever to embrace the canon.

I certainly don't see anything new to go crazy over. Could've at least been like Marvel and adapt cool characters and story arcs. I read who is all in the story group and boy, am I worried about the future.

I meant mainly from a stability/consistency point of view. The new canon is being kept uniform from the start, unlike the EU which was more piecemeal.

Saw rogue one today.

Rogue one is better than the force awakens.
Better more interesting plot.
Better fights, better space battle.
Better second act. Felt More epic.

I can see myself watching this more than i ever watched force awakens.

Force awakens loses me with the squid cargo scene and the cantina scene. I tend to fast forward those scenes.

I dont know maybe i need to watch it more timez but i left the theater loving this. Loving every scene.
