I think they showed some of it in the official trailer. Wasn't a super secret (also showed a bit of Eadu), though the scale of it was. I think they also just showed X-wings in both cases.

They didn't show the battle in Trailer #1 or #2. Trailer #2 showed a quick shot of X-Wings zooming through the Eadu canyons and flying over the beaches but nothing of the space above Scarif. I didn't watch any trailers or TV spots after the first two.

Except I did see a little bit of some dumb car commercial that I thought spoiled that there'd be a hundred scout walkers on Scarif. :lol

Yeah, I think it was in the final trailer before the movie. They show the X-wings attacking that shield structure. Also see the Vader walk to Krennic.

I really wasn't expecting the freaking rebel fleet calvary that's for certain.

Edge of my seat the entire 3rd act.

When Gold and Red showed up I lost my mind.

When Vader did his thing I lost my ****.

When Leia was shown I was doing a standing ovation. :lol

Ah. Trailer #2 just ended with that unused shot of the back of his head. So I literally got to see every single second of Vader unspoiled. :yess:

(Not that the final trailer gave away anything to speak of)

:rock :rock :thud:

They maybe gave a bit too much away in that trailer but smartly didn't show the Imperial Cruisers or big ships from the Rebel Fleet. Wasn't expecting it to be the scope of Jedi, that's for sure.

One thing I've noticed with both Marvel and LFL is that you can usually watch the first two trailers and be okay but after that they start showing too much.

WB/DC? You're screwed the second you watch the first teaser.

Anyone else see this? I saw that StarWarsNewsNet had it on their front page today. It's pretty damn cool.

Yeah that's cool. Despite the fact that William's didn't score RO, they really didn't need to 'hide' it as I'm sure Disney would have paid usage rights if they needed to for use of previous motif's or music. IIRC I did see his name in the credits somewhere I think so I'd think with that acknowledgement they could get away with more music usage.

As far as collectibles and merchandise go, I bet icons like your Mauls, Obi-Wans, Jangos, Grievous, Clones, Palpatines outsell and are more popular than your Reys, Finns, Cassians, and First Orders.

Disney apparently hasn't gotten that memo. Walk into any store, the merchandise is 90% OT + TFA/RO.

Though I will be curious to see if Disney attempts to redeem the PT one piece at a time. Continuing to do what they did with Jimmy Smits in RO might actually be a good tactic for them. Construct a great film and then introduce just one single PT element to warm people up to it. Then do it again, and again, etc. Maybe if Episode 8 is awesome they will be able to slip Hayden in and not have it be detrimental to the picture. That's obviously not what I want personally but I have to admit that Smits in no way tainted RO for me. So who's to say that that can't continue.

Jimmy smiths was actually nice to see. Made me happy.
He was one of the non bad things of the prequels.

Agreed. Smits and McGregor weren't tainted by the prequels. If Disney wants to build a bridge to that trilogy, those two are the best way to do it. Neeson is great in whatever he does but since he was the one who gave the damn midichlorian speech I don't know that I want to see him return in anything SW related. :lol

A young Qui-Gon movie would be pretty bad ass actually, PT era, decent flick.

As long as they keep out the midichlorians and any Gungans. :lol

Agreed. :lol

Does anyone remember that Mountain Dew commercial? Didn't it have Qui-Gon in it?

Edit: Found it. :lol

There's not even enough OT. It's all mostly TFA/RO and it ain't selling.

Every store in my area looks like this,

Finn's from 2015, unsold Rey's and Kylos. Too many Jynn and Cassians to count. None of them sell. Reminds me of the Saga collection from around the time Attack of the Clones came out where certain characters were rotting the pegs. I don't get why people were getting mad and petitioning Hasbro about lack of Rey. Between Toys R Us and Walmart she's clogging pegs.

All the prequel figures from those waves (as well as the EU and animated stuff for some reason) sell fast and sell out, as does the Original Trilogy. Then you look at the Hot Toys too and they're having trouble selling all those TFA figures, even the First Order Troopers!

I don't know why Hot Toys doesn't make a Darth Maul or an evil Anakin or a Jango Fett. They'd probably sell better and re-energize the line. The Darth Maul that's from that retail line above is commading quite a profit on the secondary market for a toy that was $15 bucks.

I was thinking of this some today. I wonder if having small bits related directly to the prequels in any newer movies (especially the Star Wars Story ones) will help people accept the prequels more?

Another link from RO was Vader's castle on Mustafar.
