Cannon is overrated. (This is not the bible)

I enjoyed almost all SW movies, and hope to continue to enjoy them.

Its not the end of the world if they don't live up to OT.

And just for DiFabio......I think Batman 89 has aged terribly. TDK was far superior in every way. ;)

Be nice if we could talk about he film, and not just bash everything......it awful negative in here.

i enjoy this kind of back and forth.

i love RO but enjoy Khev's, fab's and jye's oppinions. and enjoy reading them.

if we kept this khev's safe space it would be boring as none of us have that luxury on this board. :lol

:lol at the Palpatine quotes.

Hey man if you want to praise RO there's a good number of us that will always be right there with you. :)

Yeah six months after a film's release the "threadcrap" rules get pretty lax, especially if it's done in comedic fashion like DiFabio's last tirade. Obviously I'm not cracking down on the RLM links anymore because most of our conversations have had ample chance to breathe.

And I recognize that for some it can get pretty eye-rolling to have a movie thread constantly at the top of a page because two or three people can't shut up about how much they love it. :lol

Lol at the one awkwardly watching the saber duel. Make it so LFL! :yess:

And the top one is totally how Lucas would have done it. K-2's all over the place, in the foreground, background, straddling Jabba's tail, always calling attention to themselves as new additions. We'll done!

Speaking of this, there were strong suggestions that Disney was going to put out unaltered version of the OT on Blu Ray at some point. Has any of this been confirmed? Is there a timeline for this? I have the Harmy versions, but they don't work consistently, and I'm debating if I should shell out for another set of them, or hold off until the official versions come out. Because I want to be able to watch those with my kids while they are still young!

Disney came out a few days ago stating something along the lines of "those are his movies (the originals), and his only, blah, blah, blah." saying the special editions are the only ones we'll see releases of from here forth. So, fat chance.

What sucks about "Special Editions" is that no one will ever agree on what makes a film better and what tarnishes it.

If LFL said they'd bow to my wishes and mine alone I'd ask them to do this:

1. Restore the original theatrical cuts and make them always available. Forever. Then no one would have to freak about my changes.

2. Do new "Special Editions" of the OT but starting from scratch again (the theatrical cuts.) Change NONE of the character dialogue or actions (no redubbing Vader, Fett, Greedo getting a shot off, etc.) Change *only* the VFX shots and have them all done by the team that did the Scarif space battle and AT-ACT beach battle. Maybe have a K-2 droid pass Luke and Han in ST disguise on their way to the elevator just to show they still exist. And that's it.

Anyone who doesn't like the upgrades would have permanent access to the originals and I'd have my "Rogue One-ized" OT. (Though I'd still go back to the originals semi-regularly regardless.)

I wonder if 10 years down the line we'll get a SFX version of RO with updated CGI? I think Tarkin and Leia will age real fast. They already looked better to me in December then when I watched the blu.
