K-2SO is so much more fun to quote and make up lines for. Because he's a little bratty.

The only figure I have on preorder right now is K-2SO. I was thinking of cancelling him because I'll have no other RO figures to pose him with... but after a couple more viewings, I've decided to keep him. He's just too cool and can certainly stand on his own on the shelf. He really fits right in with the OT lot.

Smart choice, he's certainly better than 3PO and R2 from the PT!

When I look at K2 I can immediately hear his snarky voice, love it, very memorable.

His death was also pretty tragic....he's a droid!

His voice breaking down while giving Jyn and Cassian last second survival advise was a great heroic death for him.

Plus he looks great and his name is bad ass.

''Congratulations! You are being crushed!''
I wish I remembered any of that robot's quotes, so that I could join in the fun :(

And that's just another cool thing about RO. It really is just pulled directly from his original opening scroll. Rebel ships striking from a hidden base. Check. During the battle spies stole the plans. Check. And then it even featured physical data tapes that were stolen as well as beamed transmissions. Everything in his scroll and all ANH dialogue that mentioned the plans was represented in some way.
A simple way of understanding the difference in opinion that we have with this one, Khev, is that you think this is all a good thing, and I think the opposite!

Another thing I really hate about this film and modern filmmakin' in general:

They went through all this trouble just to cover perfect actor's head with an incredibly overcomplicated cgi mask of a dead person... and it still looks 100% fake. It would be so much easier to just use practical fx in order to make great Guy Henry look more like awesome Peter Cushing. I mean, what's next? Disney's Special Version of the Prequel Trilogy where Christensen's and McGregor's faces are replaced with CGI heads of young Sebastian Shaw and Alec Guinness? For ****s sake, man...

Yeah, they put all that effort in, and yet it still looked like a CG videogame character interacting with real people. Not as bad as Leia, but. . .in fairness, there is no perfect solution. Just film a guy from the back, or have someone where an unconvincing mask like they did with the prequels? Best solution would probably have been to not include him in the script, and just let someone convey his messages to the characters in the film or whatever.

He looked awful, I do wish they would just stop it already as it really does kill any immersion. They could have just written in another character if all else failed. Mention Tarkin if need be, that would be enough as we all know him.

What looked awful and took me out of the movie was the ROTS Tarkin, not that it took much to do that by the end of ROTS. :lol

RO Tarkin kept me engaged in the movie!

I had a deep thought several weeks ago with no feedback curious on your thoughts........

Deep Thoughts once the plans were uploaded from Scariff, it is placed all into one disk (and only one disk). Today's world it would have been uploaded to all the rebel cruiser’s, every ship would have a copy and would have immediately been sent to Rebellion server!! There would never be the physical task of an individual bringing a “hardcopy” back to the rebellion. As a result the event of the OT would have never taken place.

Baggin' on ROTS isn't going to make RO Tarkin and Leia look more real.

Yo Jye, did you think clonetroopers looked good and convincing? Or did you think they looked like ass and sucked major balls.

It takes place in "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away". They don't have the technology we have bro. We're far more advanced as a civilization.

Well except for Droids.

And Lightsabers.

Oh and starfighters.

And those fast swoosh door thingies.

They both looked terrible to me, the difference is that we got a slight glance in ROTS. Where as he was a main character in R1. It was too much, the tech looks impressive in images, but it just doesn't fool the eye at all in motion still. For all of their talk of focusing on practical effects, it was a disappointing addition for me and contributed to me not enjoying R1 much.

I think it is a small detail that was overlooked. It could have been one line of dialogue in the heat of battle where Raddis says “Communication down cannot transfer message to base or other ships, sending Rebel Cruiser with message”. It would have strengthened ANH (obi, lukes and the droids quest to get Leia message back to Alderaan!!

I loved it even with it not being 100%. I think it was important to have Tarkin in this movie and unlike, say, Jabba in the ANH:SE where not only did he look ***t but the scene undermined his character aswell - at least Tarkin's character retained his cool....which is a strange thing to say about a mass murdering war criminal I admit...

Just say his lines off screen maybe have Krennic speak with Tarkin thru a bathroom door.
Disney, HIRE THIS MAN TO WRITE FOR YOU!!

"Tarkin is on the toilet again! Good lord. Well, let me go talk with him."

Since these guys are clearly based on Nazi officers, who behaved much in that bureaucratized, detached way, that makes some sense.

The Empire didn't do anything wrong. Comparing my boy Tarkin to a nazi rustles my jimmies. Everything they did was perfectly legal.

The rebellion was the real enemy. Look what happened when they overthrew the Empire, they didn't bring order to the new republic, they just made things worse and let a new order come in.

Princess Leia and her merry band of misfits were filthy communists. Tarkin should have had Vader murder her on the SPOT.
