I'm glad they are doing different aspects to this franchise. Nitpicking will obviously happen by people, but I'm glad they have powers without suits, show some backstory, and aren't the already popular kids. Nice change.

Well, I'm officially interested in this, even if they are making Rita a former Green Ranger.

*Ironically the movie reminds me of Trank's FF which looked just as good and almost nobody gave a chance to out of "support" for Disney.

I'm excited about Goldar. Love that announcement. I'm curious if they'll keep Rita as more of the 'brains' - with some power, and leave Goldar as the muscle like they do in the show.

I'm glad to see PR fans are excited, I thought the trailer would get a harsh reception.

I haven't been a PR fan since I was a kid, after the 2nd or 3rd PR generations, sometimes I want to get back in just like with TMNT but there's not enough pull for me.

Wow, that trailer. I hope Power Ranger fans are happy with this but as a casual observer, that looks terrible.

I'm biased because I love the property itself, so they would have to do a lot wrong to screw up my excitement, but I got to admit, I've read a surprising number of positive reviews on social media - whether fans of PR or not. I think word of mouth may really help this thing if they can keep not too far in left field. I think this was a step in the right direction.

From what I've seen, the core actors have great chemistry. And I like the fact that they're not super well known at the moment.

I think Lionsgate needs to focus on good PR/marketing, but not give too much away. They were smart by building up hype and keeping fans wanting more. Let the fans keep the hype rolling until premiere weekend - dropping a few more 'quick, non revealing' trailers - ie. maybe a quick flash of the Megazord assembling.

what if jason touched the pink stone by mistake. :lol

origins concept is almost in the same as...

The website is pretty cool. Neat viral marketing. I say this about a lot of movies, but I hope things develop into an ARG. Doubtful, but hopeful.

And I think Banks is a bad @%$ as Rita, from the little bit I've seen in photos and in the trailer. She seems to really dig the role too.

I for a one am happy that they didn't give the powers to attractive wealthy popular kids, they already have it all as it is so don't give them super powers ontop of it!

That being said these kids are way too attractive themselves to be outcasts in their schools.

It's Hollywood. You know how these things work.

It seems really polarized on social media, but for the most part people loved it. I for one loved the tone it set. It seems like it's right where it needs to be. It's a teen angst film from the 80s, that turn into superheroes.

brian cranston as zordon in this one, right?
this would be interesting. :]

Yep. I'm not an uber Cranston fan like most on here, but I think he'll more than legitimize the film with his acting.

I don't mind her getup anymore, and it's definitely going to be related to Green Ranger anyway. I like a world where there were Rangers before them, and they lost. Having Rita lose every time gets boring.

The notion of Rita being a fallen Green Ranger is growing on me.

Maybe in this series that's how Tommy comes about. The Rangers defeat Rita and in doing so set the Green Ranger power free and in search of a new host.
