I know there are a few figures I'd unload if the prices were better and I'm getting choosier as well.

Never was a completist, but now I'm even more of an incompletist :lol

Thats the way to do it bro :rock

Totally!! :rock I really wish I had seen the light sooner so to speak. There really is just too much cool crap out there and I got lost in that. Now, that I can be specific in what I do want makes getting stuff so much more worth it.

I can't tell you how I look at my collection and regret some of the purchases because I was trying to be a completist...

I'm enjoying collecting a lot more now that I don't feel the need to get every 12" SW figure that SS makes as well as be a completist in other lines.

I'm finally able to sit down and go thru my collection and sell the ones I don't really enjoy that much to someone who really would.

It let's me afford the ones I really want too. Like this Sandtrooper. ;)

Like I said its a great feeling. For me my collection is becoming a nice blend of SS, SSW, HT, and Medicom. Some other stuff mixed in but thats the main ones.

Yeah, I'm trying. :lol Its not easy in someways cause there have been figures I'd seriously think about getting or stuff I've axed that I wouldn't have before. It does feel good let stuff go though and dig out of this hole a bit and have a more rounded collection of stuff I REALLY want.

I had a nerd wakeup call yesterday. I was cleaning up on my bookshelf yesterday and I have every issue of Star Wars insider since '96 in 3 ring binders on a shelf and I thought to myself, WHY????? What was I thinking saving those, like I'll ever read them again :lol I've got a lot of random ^^^^ I've saved because I was young and Star Wars obsessed but now it's like, really? I think I'm at a point where I want my collection to be as mature as I am, which sounds a bit like an oxymoron but oh well.

Seems that everyone is going the same way with there collections and being selective, use to have to much on display cause i just bought everything. Now i have alot less and the collection looks really good.

Cool exclusive, think it will be really cool way to display the figure in the "look sir driods" pose, only other exclusive i display with is the clone-obi.

Cleaning out a box in the loft and found aload of star wars insider which i threw away, i think 2004 was the most minbe went back.

Threw them out but i spent about 2 hours going through them, notice alll the crappy toys i use to buy. Did i really use to have such a massive dispossible income?

I am being selective, but The Original Trilogy - ANH in particular, is my focus. Prequel stuff has taken a back, back seat for me, with exceptions.

I think a lot of collectors go through reassessments. I used to collect all the SS SW figures. Sold them off and moved into the LOTR PFs and other collectibles. Now I'm selling those off and getting back into SS SW figures, but OT-only. I've got one coming from The Josh and 3 more on hold from him. I may be crazy, but somehow I always come back to Star Wars.

Still have all my Hasbro figs from 1995 on....I have got to go through and get rid of 2/3rds of those - just too much space taken...

1:6 is my favorite line at this point. Love 1:4, but for my space/money, its not as practical. I love my 1:4 Vader though....he just rocks!

I've got issues saved of stuff like that. I don't know why and honestly I'm probably going to toss most of them. I don't think I'll be rereading them anytime soon.

Does anyone else think the proportions on this (and obviously the Stormtrooper) are wonky? A really short torso and weird skinny legs. Don't get me wrong I'm still totally getting these, but I just wish the bodies were better proportioned. The Marmits still have the upper hand in that area, the armor looks more natural on them.

I always did...every since SDCC '08...I'll still get em in hopes its just SSC's wacky lack of ability to pose figures in a way that really highlights their attributes.

Luke will be going out saturday by the way.

It's a nice choice for the exclusive, but I think I'll get the regular from an AD to save a few bucks. I also think that Sideshow is timing its releases in such a way as to ease us into the price increases. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw $150 figures soon, and the lowest price is also going to be going steadily up. That's OK as long as they are comparable in quality to what HT is doing.

Well, if you compare Vader to say a HT's predator and take into account the $20-$30 dollar import fees attached to the HT's price, SSC's prices are pretty close to being on par with HT's prices already.:horror

It's funny that you guys mention the Insider. I have a stack of those as well that I was just going through. I've been lugging them around for the past several years. Besides the three issues dealing with alternate cuts of Star Wars and deleted scenes from the OT (good film history stuff by David West Reynolds), they're now gone.

Being selective is the way to go.
