the back drop i made for an old marx lone ranger set....:lol

i had an extra truetype that i was saving for something & decided what the hell, i will redo one of my marmit sandtroopers tonight. so after about an hour & a 1/2........i came up with this. the only real difference besides a bit more posability versus the dragon body is that i was able to add the extra ssc st hands without too much fuss......(teflon tape works wonders kids...:D).......anyway i think the armor sits a lil' more naturally as well...........feed back please...:D

the creativity in these pics is amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed them.

someone had asked the scale of the GG piece...not sure, but I think it is 1/7 ?

great pics barryo. i too had the sergeant on a dragon and decided to switch to a true type. its much better imo, not to mention that you can fit the ssc stormtrooper hands onto the tt peg. ive got myself a spare slim tt (although my troops are on the regular true type) and have marmit sandtrooper spare parts lying around i just need the lower foot armor and the shoes/boots for both legs to complete yet another guy for my squad but i guess i'll just wait for sideshows sandtrooper. great job on your dragon to tt conversion dude and really looking forward to seeing more sandtrooper pics.

I love photoshop.

thought this filter looked pretty nice.

Damn I'd pay good money for this... if I hadn't done it myself LOL:rotfl

Yeah playing about with these progs can be fun. Ive got 1 prog but i haven't installed it cos its HUGE, but when i did it was pretty cool and costs about £500. I just use Adobe Photoshop CS3 and paint shop pro 9 atm.

Right I know its not a Sandtrooper or a dewback, but I got so excited I had to post these pics somewhere.
I got so saddened by my SS Stormie so he ended up in the parts drawer!! I then thought about how to improve my Medicom troopers. and here is the result. I will do the same to my Sandies as soon as I can so they are super posable for dios!!

Dorgmal

So what ya done Dorg?

Medi Armour on SS body? Good articulation but thight armour looks a bit out of proportion.

Now I think you'll find my latest effort is a lot more sensible...

The Goth Squad are looking for new recruits, with some mixed success I have to admit....

Ahh Goth Squad looking good!

Do you think the thigh armor is too small?
All I have done is popped the armor on a slim truetype, SS stormie hands a boots. Not too challenging but its a little taller and so much more articulated.

No not too small, just a bit - I dunno? Baggy?

But it looks better than a standard SS although maybe not as nice as an original Medi.

My fav Stormie at the moment is a Medi Trooper with leg extentions and SS hands I'll pop a picture up later on - I'm trying to work at the mo but unfortunately have 60 Medi/Sideshow/Hot Toys/Takara/Hasbro/Diamond figures on my desk distracting me!!??!

I must tidy up dammit!

You know what, I take it back mate.

Looking at that second set I just realised, if I tried to get my medi's in some of those poses I'd have snapped several shoulders and dislocated half a dozen hips.

Damn you medicom, why can't you make a body that's not made out of cornflakes?

LOL I know what you mean I really love the medicom troopers but they are so hard to pose, and as I love my dios posing is high on my list of important factors that make a good figure. The cornflakes they make the medicoms out of is so frustrating. I have quite a few with crushed toes, broken shoulders.

I wiold like to see you medi with leg ex,if it's not distracting you from working :)

LOL No problem!

I'm a lazy so-and-so really and don't like this working at 10.00pm malarky!

Here's a comparison shot...

From the left, Regular Medicom. Medi with leg extentions and Sideshow Hands, Standard Sideshow
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=3stoogies1a.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/3stoogies1a.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I've not made the SS look bad on purpose - he just looks like Quasimodo next to the Medi's! Oh yeah, and he's leaning on the wall 'cos his knees and ankles are so loose.
