I do agree about the weta bases, and on the bad guys the paint just seems to be black, without much detail, esp on the wraiths. Ive never saw a piece myself just my opinion from the pics ive seen.
And I do like the weta sauron, but there seems to be alot more going on and so so much more detail on the pf!

I had a feeling this guy would get pushed...I have a feeling September is the earliest we'll see this. I'm betting more like November. Wasn't the DROM pushed back by like 3 months? And don't even get me started on the droids...ah well, gives me more time to save to pay it off. Maybe I need to jump on board for the droids in the meantime...word is they're FINALLY going to ship by the end of July.

No new, "news" on this guy yet? I am waiting to see some in person pics before I jump on this guy. I know it is HUGE and a PF but the SSW Sauron does me just fine as that pose is PERFECT and is as dynamic as they come.

I agree with you Mr Fell Beast , the SSW Sauron is a fantastic pieces and the pose is perfect ...but I still want the SS PF too.

Possible for me, I just need to see in hand pictures BEFORE I commit this much $$$$$$$ for it, as that base it either going to make it or bust it, plus he is going to be WAY difficult to display him for me as my display space is VERY limited and at this size he is going to be a space hog.

After having plenty of time to think about getting this I decided to finally pull the trigger and PO'd this baddy of all baddies. This is my first SideShow LOTR statue and probably the only one I need. But I do want a Smaug pf and the White Orc Azog, then Im all good. Great timing to PO this guy.

Doubt it. SS are very slow at updating their site for old stuff from what I've seen.

Unless the production piece looks different from the proto - then pictures are up and changed in a flash...

Yes, there will probably be renewed interest once people see it again at SDCC and we get a more solid date.

When the awesome in hand pics come(crosses fingers) this will sell fast...If the Next Hobbit films has mention of Sauron it might sell a few more...This will IMHO be one of Sideshows greatest pieces...I'm just going by the pics Josh had at last years SDCC too, but I have faith in this one...I also know what it is like to own a massive 3 ft piece....This will wow em....That 8 flex pay option sure as hell helped too...I do wish it had an ES of 1000 or less but oh well

That JV print would've been nice. Even Gil-Galad's bloody head/spear/shield would've been cool too as an exclusive
