The pose may not be quite as iconic, but I have a feeling it will grow on you. Match it with a print of the artwork and wow, this one will crush the SSW one in every aspect.

Really? As much as I like the SSW Sauron I always found the pose to be a bit uninspiring, it's just kinda your generic "GRRRR I'M THE BAD GUY" pose.

I also have a gut feeling that we might not see this until Q4 of this year. Not that it bothers me though, gives me time to try find a spot for him to be displayed.

I've had a few pieces come in the last few months, the DROM is still too awesome to forget about.

I don't know about that. The SSW statue is fantastic but if the orange paint comes out looking like comic-con last year this one is going to be very hard to top.

I expect when it ships we'll see the usual OMG WOW BEST THING EVVAAA reactions, but in years to come i think the SSW version will be regarded as the better version.

If the production pieces look like the Con pics last year this version will blow the doors of the Weta one IMO. Those pics were amazing.

It's possible. Doesn't matter both pieces should end up being regarded highly for being excellent pieces.

Cant understand why anyone would think the weta one was in anyway better than this one if it comes out like the sdcc pf, unless they had the weta sauron and where a bit biased lol

I feel like the Weta version is more proportionately accurate than the SS PF. I don't know why but from every angle the PF's head looks slightly bigger than it should be. For the record, I don't have the Weta version and I do have the PF on preorder.

To me it will be because it was made by the same people who actually created that character and look for the movies. You can't get any more authentic than that.

Both Saurons are beautiful period,end of story. If one only owns the Weta version be proud and who cares what the 1/4 scale guys say. Both are equally beautiful.

That does make the SSW pieces special. It's one of the things many of us love about that line and the Collectibles.

And until this 1/4 scale Sauron is released and proves itself, the SSW version is the undisputed best ya got version out there and has been Sauron champ for like almost the last decade. Period! I will proudly own both but will never bash the Weta version

I'm with ya. If I could find the SSW version for the right price I'd love to own it again.
