Hi Freaks!
Please help me a little.
My friend got his Sauron but it is damaged at the right leg. (it is broken down in multiple pieces)
The white "box" looked that way.
In my opinion the tape is too yellow (not so clear SS usually use), and it is taped plumb too. It is normally? Or it was opened by someone and repacked? What do you think?

Thanks!

That looks like customs went through it. Was the quality seal broken? Customs should stamp or notify if they were in it, but if they broke it I am guessing they may have forgotten that part.

Just opened mine two hours ago and it was the same. Tape was yellow the seal from Sideshow intact, not damaged at all. Check my pics before on what condition my sauron is. Shhh.

Probably SS opened it for inspection and stock it for a while and turned out yellow.

Was there no ventilation or was the roof leaking or something like that? That sounds like a lot of damage for being in storage.

It was piss poor. I would have never stored it that way. They had been in a nice attic at my parents house, but they were just in a larger brown box. Without telling me my dad decided to move everything to the back shed, which is dark and dank and all it took was one rainy weekend to demolish them, even though no direct water was able to get in there. Just the moisture and subsequent heat killed them, so no, not very well ventilated. I'm sure your stuff is much better preserved, but I would just caution to keep them in plastic tubs if possible, becase cardboard in direct contact with air in typically stuffy places is bound to get jacked up.

I'm really sorry about your statues damage I hope you will get a replacement soon.
My friends Saurons leg is broken down. :(

Base and other parts are perfect. Just the body in two pieces and a chip on the waist.

That is good to hear. Shipping the body should not be a problem like a base would be, so your replacement should arrive undamaged. It will probably be hand packed and not in Styrofoam like the original. That is how they shipped my replacement base and even it came ok.

How's the replacement piece ? A real base from the Chinese factory with perfect paint job or its custom made from someone with cheap paint from sideshow California ?

I think you have that backwards. :lol. I don't know who painted it, but it puts the China paintjob I got on my 1st one and most of the ones I see in pics to shame. It may have been a repaint from someone with skills on CA or I just got lucky and one of the Chinese painters had some above average talent. See for yourself.

Wow, thank goodness for that. :lecture

That bottom pic is a lot better. Congrats.
Indeed, and the original base looks better in that pic than in does person. You can see a bit of it in the 2nd pic off in the top right to see how flat the paint looks even more than when the light was not directly on it. I would have never known how bad the paint was if I had not had the broken helm.

The orange on the origonal base is much darker especially on the chest skeleton piece. I don't think it looks bad though.. the base should be a little dull compared to the figure.

Having this piece is making all my other stuff seems like cheap crap. It's kind of bothering me lol. Making me want to sell lots of it.

Yes, it is too much orange, in the original artwork everything barely glows as the ground and bone would not be overly reflective like the metal armor and weapons. The yellow is the hotter lava and would reflect more yellow. That 1st base it too orange so thus the reflections are too orange also. The 1st base, was kind of grey/green mix, it should be mostly volcanic black. Mordor is not called the Black Lands for nothing.

Just got a email from Sideshow's support , they can't replace my broken body, they're offering a full refund!! Wtf?!
