That's why I would never spend a dime on a doll. Hate to say, they usually are cheap crap. The folks that spend $500+ on a 1:6 doll are literally throwing money into the wind.

But hey, whatever gets people off...

Chris
Some of the stuff is great quality(but very expensive for what you get). To me most 1:6 is just unimpressive when displayed with anything other than 1:6. I sold most of my 1:6, but keeping a few choice pieces. I wish SS took some queues from HTs like metal parts for weapons or in Sauron's case the armor like the 1/4 Endo and some of the new Iron Man or Robocop ones coming out.

I think hot toys are some of the most amazing artistry in collectibles out there. "Dolls", sure, but the quality is just insane and they are damn impressive. I guess i displayed them next to Sauron they would look silly, but I don't. 1/6 is some of the stuff I'm definitely keeping and going to continue to collect. I like it because i don't buy it all willy nilly like I would with other stuff, like neca predators. I'm very specific about the 1/6 stuff I buy, and so much of it are just amazing representations of classic characters, and in the case of humans, often better looking than 1/4 statues. For example I think the DX-13 looks much better than the Terminator 2 premium format. Statues are best for non humanoid or highly costumed, comic booky or straight fantasy characters.

The old Arnold Terminator PFs the DX13 has beat for sure, but that new Battle Damage PF looks pretty good. I also prefer the Dutch PF to the Hot Toys version. Only ones I am keeping are a few preds not make in 1/4 yet and the Batmobiles and matching figures(at least until the PFs come out)

That is one opinion for sure but some of the 1:6th stuff out there and especially some of the custom stuff end up being some of the coolest items you can find. Especially when you factor in the scale. I didn't use to care for 1:6th action figure at all but I've grown to appreciate the scale and what can be done in it. I also find it funny how people will try to use the term doll as a way to put down what others collect in a way to make them feel superior.

Just got my RMA email with the instructions , they want me to destroy it and send them pics with the edition number. So Josh, you can scratch #25 in the sideshow tracker list.

Gonna try to deal with them to not destroy everything and keep the perfect pieces. The problem is that the base is flawless.

You should be able to keep your number if they're wanting to know what you had. That's usually what they do.

I'm not putting anyone down by calling them dolls. If they have posable joints, by definition it's a doll regardless of scale.

If their are folks that get offended or self-conscious by people who call their "dolls" dolls, then maybe they should consider another hobby.

I think you missed my point but let's move on.

Action figure, Sixth Scale Figure, etc. :lecture

Regardless if you meant it or not, using the term "doll" in this hobby is considered derogatory and you've been around long enough that I'm sure you know that. There's a reason neither Hot Toys nor Sideshow call them "Dolls" in their product descriptions. :peace

:lol

I just got a notification that my reputation status has been taken down a notch because I referred to dolls as dolls LOL

I got one last week for calling the LSF Wolverine overpriced. Is every member here a shareholder of SS? Or does everyone hate hearing the truth?

Hopefully they let you keep the good stuff, or at least destroy it after the new one arrives and everything is ok.

I just noticed your reputation rating is off the charts!

I've never got so close to a celeb before.

Chris
