Phil, I can't say if we'll have a Narsil shard or not, but I have been working with SS and the sculptor on the Sauron project, and in my opinion, he is going to kick some serious rear end, because he is looking awesome! The details are crazy, all the way down to the embossesd scroll work on his armour!

Jerry if it's 1/2 as amazing as your work.. I can't wait to see it!!! Thanks for bringing your talent to us!

Thanks Attom.

Just my opinion, because I know ( especially on the Sauron subject ) opinions vary, but I really love the way this baby is coming out.I love the Weta version too, but this one takes a new approach to the same character we all love.

JV

I really wouldn't mind a new approach for a 2nd or 3rd PF, but I hope they go with something that shows his raw power for this one.

Well, as I've said before, power can be shown outwardly, like an action-packed comic book style pose, or you can show a less visible, radiating power from within that is subtle, and that is our approach for this piece.

I agree, it's all in the pose, you could just stand there and exude dark power with the right threatening pose. The SSW version is nowhere close to an action pose but you get the feel of his power right there. I would like a more classic version of Sauron for the first PF, one that people will associate with him and the ring. So many great poses from the film to draw from and his mace and the ring shown in prominence.

Will this be a Legendary Scale Figure Jerry?

I'm not sure if this falls into the Legendary Scale, or not to be honest. He will be very large though!

JV

Well, we know he's gonna be big which in and of itself be awesome, but if they can capture the mood and feeling of the print this could be one of the best lotr pieces ever.

It doesn't matter to me if Sauron falls into LS or PF, I just want Him to be in the least expensive catagory! :lol

Idk, by the sounds of all the detail Dutch is talking about, I fear the worst with this one with $, but it sounds like it could be a piece to represent the whole franchise. I would imagine this would defn be a LSF; it's too bad we have no clue what that means for price yet.

Doubt they will release these at or near the same time...I would think a year apart...

Yeah, those two are gonna cost a chunk so I would expect a decent amount of time between them.

A Sauron smashing stuff will be epic!

Quick question, does Sauron wield his mace in his right or left hand. I'm assuming right?

He won't be doing that in the PF though. There is the Dio if you want that type of action from Sauron.

A fantastic exclusive would be the sword that Sauron uses in the Aragorn vs. Sauron fight sequence that was originally shot but then abandoned when PJ & Co. (thankfully) changed their minds about having Sauron take physical form in ROTK.

Got a look at the sword in the traveling LOTR museum exhibit several years back. It's just as beautifully designed as his armor! :clap

Sadly, this one's probably going to be too spendy for my budget, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this baby! Gonna be gorgeous! :lecture

I've never seen that deleted scene before, was it bad or something? I would've loved to see Sauron and Aragorn fight it out. I think this LSF will come with a smaller version of the print, but that's at most cause I don't think the LSF's will have switch out parts besides Wolf.

Its show in the extra discs on the EE of ROTK. Leaving that part out was the right thing by Jackson because its totally outside the realm of whats in the books and why Sauron needed the ring.
