It seems that the story was way over blown. One of the guys from KROQ out here was actually in the panel as a moderator and his story was much different then the story that got out. I dont remember exactly what it was but it wasnt nearly as bad as it was made out to be. But yeah its still pretty sad. But then I have been know to knock down the idiots who walk without looking where they are going .:lol

And the people that are walking and just stop. UGH! :slap:gah:

Or the people who feel the best place to hang out is the middle of the aisle. Or taking the whole aisle to take pics of attention whores in costume. ( sorry that the biggest reason to dress up is to get attention)

LOL! I also found that annoying as well. Although I did stop to get my picture taken with some of the hotties. :lol

That happens at every convention. lol Were there any people sitting on the floor blocking aisles and entrances?

This sucks if it is true and no more go up when they first go up online. I always have a limited budget at Comic Con, so don't buy next year's tickets until they go up online after the con, to save money for doing stuff at the con! If they have already sold out, there will be a lot of angry regular attendees. Why even limit PN? It's not like it will really make any difference.

CUMMINS, this makes me very sad as my first time to SDCC will not be a preview night 4 day extravaganza! :monkey2

Maybe if they stopped giving away "press" passes,
and there's a ton of people that get "promotional" preview night only stickers, that don't really care about the Con...
Seriously... WTF??? :dunno

Also, if this year was any indication Security is just going to be even more intense and strict from here on out (especially in light of the pen-stabbing incident... sigh). This year, they were already ridiculous BEFORE that even happened. If your plan is to "sneak" into things (like Preview Night or whatever) I'd recommend a back-up plan or two.

Yeah, what was with the scanners this year? Were people making fake badges?

Thing I don't like about the "bar code" is that it gives out all the info you gave to the convention when signing up.

I dont know about the fakes idea but could be a way to start sending badges out instead of pickup and making it hard to fake them with more time to fake them.

Did you run the barcode? If not how do you know what info it gives out?

official SDCC site says it gives out pretty much your name, addy and e-mail. And they discourage you let anyone outside of the convention scan your badge.

I don't know if they just give away the press passes. You have to show you have several things of work out there on the net from a legitimate work.

Like Lonnie said I'm not sure why they limit it really. It didn't make it any easier overall this year by doing it.
