we still talk and are trying to stay friends so we considered still going but she cant afford the trip now. i have no other friends going and i wouldnt want to pop my sdcc cherry on my own. i did keep my saturday pass though. just in case.

I'll make a formal announcement when everything is set - but the Freak party is transforming this year into something completely different. Partly because the venue seriously screwed us out of our booking (DON'T patronize Jolt N' Joe's in the Gaslamp please), and partly because members just aren't using the affiliate links to buy stuff any more - we are making adjustments to our SDCC presence.

As many of you may know, there won't be a Sideshow panel this year and we are going to be doing something new and different that will be kind of a substitute for the panel and for the party.

It will mean that it will be a much, much smaller crowd and it will be for Freaks only, no guests. We're still trying to work out the details but I'll post an announcement on the main page when I have more info.

So what do u guys think about this sketch for a SDCC shirt? I used a generic looking Iron Man Hot Toys for copyright purposes!

P.S...i was inspired by another shirt i saw and the fist propaganda!

I like it, but I think it could use a bit more color if you're not limited by how many colors you can use. Perhaps a yellow or something in the starburst/halftone area. Something that adds a little color from the sdcc logo. I understand you can't use their sdcc logo, so just try stealing the colors.

The design looks cool!

Regarding the get-together - it will be more of an early evening thing and will be a bit of a dinner party, a bit of a focus group, and just a bit of a social thing. So there's no reason we can't all meet up later somewhere with wives and girlfriends, etc.
