I was going to go to the Freaks after party at TK, but we got invited to hang out with some artists, and since my wife's an artist we figured it was a good opportunity to network and make even more friends. I'm seriously going to plan to make it to the Freaks party this time.

I didn't register onsite this year cause we were not sure we would be able to go next year. I think we are still going to get tickets for next year and then play it by ear if we decide to go or not.

i have brought my girlfriend for the past seven years... trick is to make it as special for her as it is for you. by this, i am referring to a hotel on the beach, a stocked bar, and spa access. mine has actually bothered attending the con for the past 5 years...

Yea that is what we plan on doing. Might also depend on if we get a good hotel again this year.

I'm hoping my wife gets professional status this year so we can refund our tickets.

Once the hotels go up for reservations, there are 4 of us that register, then whomever gets the best hotel we go with and the rest will cancel.

I'm really, really anxious about the reg process for next year! This whole ID system thing seems really bizarre - but I'm glad that something's happening, better than waiting in silence.

Every year I go, I tell myself that I'm going to make it easier on myself and just redge at-con and every year something weird comes up and prevents me from doing that - This year was the outrageous lines. I still regret not doing it though - UGH! Stressful.

That's funny. I had my girlfroend with me at all three SD cons that I have attended (back to back!) and at this point I think she is looking forward to it more than I am. My trick was to find ways to get into open bar parties and spend less time waiting on line for exclusives.

Hell yea, we both had a blast last year and this year I think we will feel a lot more comfortable and relaxed than last year, since it was our first time.

Definitely, I think that is why going back at least a 2nd time is a must. We were overwhelmed last year, in a good way but I think now this year we can do exactly what we want and have a lay of the land.

Now it is just waiting for the public tickets to go up and deal with that mess.
