I hope so, but if they wait till June, that just screws you over with flights and hotels. My aunt and uncle will have just moved in literally a few weeks earlier in San Diego, but flights would still be a problem. :(

I just don't get the problem. Things were just fine until last year and now its a nightmare even getting tickets, let alone the crazy lines for Ballroom 20. I walked into Hall H a few times with no line but Ballroom 20 was THE room to get into last year. Things have just totally been f'd up :lol

At least I can count on Sideshow's non-attendee exclusives being there for me.

I got in 2 minutes after 8...there were already 13k people ahead of me...but I got in about 45 minutes to purchase my tickets..went smooth...I knew it would sell out...but this has to be a record.

EVERYTHING I wanted to see last year was in Ballroom 20. I didn't get into anything I wanted to see. That's part of the reason I think I may take a break after this year....when you spend more time standing in lines...or when you go to get in line 3 hours before something starts and realize you still will not get in...then I have to rethink things. All I care about this year is getting into the Hobbit. I will camp out for that...but it would be great if I will be able to see more panels than that.

It's easy to defend the new system if it worked for you but it would appear that some email links didn't work which resulted to ending up too far in the back of the line to get the good days.

Glad some Freaks got in. Atleast it didn't crash as reported last year. But the bogus links were just as big a Fail as a site crash.

I agree...it took me 15 min going back and forth clicking the link befroe I was ale to get in. I was somewhere in the 38000.

Can those who missed out buy them secondhand?

Not really. Your ID needs to match the name of the badge to pick them up. So unless someone going bought multiples and picks them up its tough to sell them secondhand. Plus Comic con says thats a no-no and will even try to cancel badges of that person if they can find out who they are, or so I've been told.

The returned badges are really the only last shot at getting tickets this year. And what blows is we are back at square one. Even though I was literally only 5 minutes at most away from getting in, my spot won't be saved for the returns. So even somone originally 40,000 behind me could have a better shot at getting them than I would because the waiting room would just start over. :(

The standing in line for 3-4 hours ahead of when you want to see something is a bit crazy. However, having said that I know some of us are planning on camping out overnight for the day when The Hobbit panel (assuming there is one) happens. :lol

I have a feeling a lot of people will be camping out. :lol I just hope it's an early panel...when I camped out for Harry Potter a couple years ago...I was delirious with exhaustion and after the Potter panel I went to the condo to sleep for the rest of the day. I'm getting too old for this camping out business. :lol

Yeah, I don't think we'll be alone there at all. :lol I figure it will be right in the middle of the day. If it turns out to be an early panel at least it allows you to leave and catch things on the floor if you so choose.

Thats the one thing that sucks about buying only day passes over a 4 day, you don't know what panels are going to be what days, or what will be there at all. For all we know a TDKR panel will be there even though it comes out a week later, but the Hobbit won't. Or maybe they'll get stupid again and have Twilight AFTER the Hobbit panel :lol

That's why my brother and I literally skipped Hall H for all 4 days. I wanted to go for some things there but had to weigh missing several other panels just to see one panel in H.

I do have to say that last year was the first time I had to actually skip that hall altogether though.

I think the movie/ TV thing has REALLY changed the dynamic of SDCC over the few years I've attended. Its now time for them to either expand the show over more days, including requiring those movie studios to show their stuff more than once, or get into a bigger venue.

So, at the risk of sounding like a total newb...The last time I was at SDCC was when my uncle owned a chain of comic book stores and SDCC was so small he could afford a booth there (I think one of the main attractions that year was the Professor from Gilligan's Island lol)
Anyway, I wanted to go this year but the website says I can't get a badge right now. Does that mean it's sold out?

Yes...sold out except for cancellations that will become available in the future...who knows when.

It sold out of all days in less than 2 hours. 4 day passes sold out in about 45 minutes.

Geez...nothing like the good ol' days...oh well. Thanks so much for the info. When did tickets go on sale? Maybe I'll try for next year...will there be any being sold on Ebay you think, or are they non-transferrable?
