I don't care what figure. Just give me a fellowship character!!!

Yea, why they started doing outside of the fellowship if beyond me. But I don't care as long as they complete the fellowship.

I hope they introduce a new set of bodies. Maybe we will get a Frodo and Sam along with maybe a couple of Jawas from Star Wars.

I wish Gandalf the Grey was coming out but I just dont see that one now with the new announcement.

Maybe we will get Eowyn or Arwen.

They went outside the fellowship in order to make Captain Faramir very, very happy.:D

I don't think that Sauron would be a retooled body. If made he'd most likely be a large rotocast figure similar to the FMA Alphonse... except of course much larger and waaay more badass. And of course if Rotocast he could have limitied articulation.

I think if the LOTR series sold as well as SW, or at least wasn't second fiddle to the line; Sauron could be a possibility. But sadly it probably won't happen :monkey2

I'm in agreement with noelleon69: Anything as long it's one of the Fellowship Nine.

Gandalf the Grey is the obvious choice. IF there is a second 1/6th scaled figure to be announced, I'm thinking that it's got to be either a hobbit or Gimli. SS has had plenty of time now to R&D the smaller bodies.

This is the ONLY line that I would consider being a completist on and it's also been the most painfully slowly moving line of all. But if it's going to bite the dust, at the very least, please give us the Fellowship Nine...

As for a "Jabba" type of release from left field, the one that keeps coming to mind is Treebeard. It can easily be done and would look freakin' amazing in any LOTR collection. Even the SS/Weta statue collectors would surely pick one up, considering we only got the bust to represent our favorite Ent.

I agree if this line has not a lot left in the tank for whatever reason gives us the Fellowship.

True that. Imagine if he hadn't been announced yet--I'd be a pretty unhappy fellow. Nah not really, but I'd be begging for one every day of my life. Now that I've got him I can move on to my other grail--1:6 Captain Antilles from ANH!

As for the 1:6 line, that would be beyond tragic if they didn't AT LEAST complete the Fellowship and add a few other, vital characters. Outside the nine, I would just have to see Saruman, Galadriel, Elrond, and a Ringwraith. Oh, and an Eowyn to go with Faramir.
:D

I'll toss my helm into the (enchanted) ring and guess Sam and Frodo as a 2-pack. It's been a looooooooooong time between releases and I'm guessing it might be because SS was perfecting their "Mini Me" bodies. As someone mentioned before, SDCC would be the perfect place to unveil something shiny and new like this.

A smidge off-topic, but I wonder if CineMaquette will finally unveil their Legolas figure at this year's Con? The elf has been on their site as part of the line for few years now. Talk about a slow release schedule! :lol

I know some people would like him, but a Grima figure really wouldn't appeal to me despite the long wait we've been suffering. I'd get him just because I'm going to be a completionist with this line, but I don't care to see him until we get a few more characters. The line is to small right now for him.

Now if we got a Saruman first to go with him . . .
:D

i was just kidding, sort of. i would like a grima but i would prefer a gandalf, saruman, hobbit , gimli, or wraith first

I am loath to add my opinion as I am sure niether of them will sit well. But I will throw it in anyway.

What I actually think - The line is dead. No 1:6 scale figures until Sideshow feels the demand for the line has justified making another one. Like BTVS...I would guess 2 years or so from the last PPO.

What I hope - Gandalf the Grey. I want to gift my brother with one before the lines dies. He was the one who turned me on the the Hobbit/LOTR story oer 25 years ago. And he used to be a sort of Gandalf to me when I was young (most older brothers are, I would guess). And I am hoping Sideshow will give the line one last chance with an announcement at SDCC.

The lines not dead. I don't believe that for even a second. Are we heading there if things don't pick up at SDCC? Yes, without a doubt.

It will be the happiest meal of words I have ever eaten if I end up having to eat mine on this subject.

But I can not understand why Sideshow will not come out and say..."The LOTR 1:6 scale line is not dead."...without qualifying it by comparing it to BTVS when that one went on 2 year hiatus.

They've come out and said it. On this board and on their "Ask SS" part of the SS site. The costumes are more complex than anything they've done on any other line. In order for them to get materials as close as they can get may be taking longer for each figure.
