I wouldn't doubt it. 
I just heard back from Sideshow about my non-lighting Shaak Ti.They're offering to send me a new light-up hand and not demand that I smash or return the old one. The problem is that they say the new one, while it will work, "there is a chance the new one will not fit perfectly flush into the wrist."
I wrote back and asked if they're certain that the problem is in the hand, and how bad a fit it would likely be.
