:lol :lol :lol :lol

That line says so much about their culture.

It would be like Americans saying:

"evacuate to Walmart or Mcdonalds"

Oh, you know it dude. They should have substituted "Pachinko parlors" for "arcades" though. That would have made it truly on the nose!

I suspect we'll have a cam copy of this on the intrawebs really, really soon now.

Ok lads, I've reached the conclusion that we live in creatively bankrupt times, and right now I have a craving for Kaiju movies, so I thought I could start getting into the old Godzilla movies, any recommendations? What are the best ones? Where should I start?

I never saw the appeal of them, since some of the "newer" ones look reaaally cheesy, but some of the old ones look great, so right now I'm in the mood for some Japanese Kaiju stuff.

I also want to see what the 2014 Godzilla movie supposedly got so wrong, I may be the only one who likes that :lol maybe by seeing true Godzilla stuff I can finally find out :lol

Godzilla vs Hedorah :lecture. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise :monkey3 :lol

After that masterpiece some of the other really good ones are

Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah giant monsters all out attack (2001)

Godzilla vs Biollante.

Godzilla vs Destoroyah

Destroy all monsters

Mothra vs Godzilla (1964)

And obviously, watch the original 1954 film.

Those are some of the most reccomended I think. And they're all really good. I have other personal favs, but I'd stick with the generally adored ones.

But seriously start with Godzilla vs Hedorah :monkey3

The 2014 film is good. It just didn't have enough Godilla.
Godzilla GMK is my favorite Godzilla movie but the best Japanese Kaiju movie ever would be Gamera 3. Gamera 2 is good and the first is just ok but it will help the others make more sense. Still, Gamera 3 has the best Kaiju battles in Japanese cinema.

Sweet, great list, will start with the original probably.

So I'm not crazy for liking it? :lol

Gamera 3? I'll start with that one, if it leaves me wanting more I'll watch the other 2.

Thanks a lot lads, this really helps :duff:

Man **** gamera. Godzilla is where it's at. Watch all the movies skip none!

Start with the original, of course. It's a stand alone cinema classic.
Then GvsMothra of 1964, it was TOHO's best crossover at the time and best kaiju film of that era.
Then watch Heisei (84-95) series, it's a must (they're all connected via plot and characters).
I'd say end it with G:Millennium, it was the first and best G film of 21st century so far.

You can watch Hedora just for ****s and giggles, it's the best of those stupid ol' G-films but still pretty bad in a fun way. Also, knowing that most fans love to mastubrate to that horrible GMK of 2001, give it a watch too - would love to know your thoughts about it. :)

P.S.
First two 90s Gamera films were the best kaiju films ever since the original Godzilla :monkey3

Listening to the SHING soundtrack.
The original music is too generic by modern terms, typical Sagisu in the worst way possible.
The inclussion of classic themes makes no sense, they're too different in style.

Don't like it at all.

I'm very curious to see how their move to full cgi destruction and monster will make me feel once the end credits roll.

In one way the creative freedom cgi affords will allow a more realistic interaction between monster, military and destruction but in another way if the cgi is not up to specs it will make all that freedom irrelevant.

We've already seen a perfect example of that freedom in G14, cgi monster, military and destruction were hollywood quality, but I want a TOHO version of that.

As cheesy as Godzilla against Kiryu and Tokyo SOS are, I love the practical battles in those movies, especially with those silver fighter jets flying around the sound stage on strings, so awesome, it really brings out the kid in me. The practical building destruction in them are so well done.

From what you can see in that spoiler heavy trailer for Shin, his laser attacks are very cool.

But that US government guy talking was really bad. :lol

WARNING!
Avoid this video if you don't wanna see this nightmarish Godzilla doin' cute girly stuff.

Who DOESN'T?

This user got ahold of the same video with a few extra seconds showing Godzilla's second form in this movie crawling along the streets, it's towards the end.

Also, it seems that this is not an official trailer, even though it's official footage, It was everywhere Saturday and today it's pulled down from almost every YouTube page because of Toho, it's also only been up at 360p when all the official videos are up in 1080p, so thank you to whoever put this together and posted it in advance.
