That will cost you.
Figures.com only has mediocre pictures of her..does anyone have any better shots of her? I know her outfit was changed! Dang Carrie Fisher! Anyway, I maybe stuck with this order since my store says once orders are in he can't cancel and he's a great guy to me. His prices are always super low, he makes me pay off some pieces in months (like layaway), gives me some great deals, and always gets free promo movie tickets! Love those!

Well, then, if you can't cancel, you seem to have answered your own question.

I think the statue will still be pretty good, despite the diminished booty on display. But right now, if you hadn't preordered it, waiting would be better -- GG slapped a pretty huge ES on her, and I expect her gazookas to stare at me from many a retailer page for months after she starts shipping.

Yeah but I am trying to get out of it. I just hope the sculpt and paint job is as good as the original pictures we saw of her from last year's show.

I am keeping mine. I think it will look nice with the Jabbaset up since there will be no other Slave Leia worth of being put with it ( I don't like the Koto piece at all ).

They completely screwed this up. It was perfection at SDCC, but then GG bowed to Carrie Fisher's demands and the result is a statue that is not half as nice as it was supposed to be.

This went from the talk of SDCC to "meh" with one lame decision. And the ES just added insult to injury.

PASS.

(However, I did order the Obi-Wan In Clone Armor statue, as that one still rocks)

I don't think covering up part of her ass made the statue less than half as good as it was.

They did more than just that (coloring, final sculpting tweaks, etc). And it's not so much that the booty is covered but HOW it is covered. The skirt falls completely unnaturally now and goes against how the piece was originally designed and sculpted by the artist. It's contrived and extremely lame... almost like seeing the black bars over naked people on TV. Actually, it's worse... as they would probably have you believe that this is how the piece was originally sculpted.

If it was really that big a deal to the former(?) coke head then the pose could actually have been resculpted to fit with her prudish demands. Instead, you get a piece that was retroactively censored with an Edition Size that is purely laughable.

Man, how do you really feel? LOL

I don't know, I don't have a huge problem with it. I still think it's nice. Sure I would have rather had it stay the way is wasat SDCC, but I am not surprised it got changed either by Carrie or Lucas. I think we all knew it would not stay as sweet as it was.

Technically, Lucasfilm may have requested the change to Gentle Giant, but it was indeed Carrie Fisher that demanded it.

Here is how it all went down:

1) The item passed all preliminary approvals by LFL. It had not yet been finally approved for production, but the prototype shown at SDCC was approved by Lucasfilm to be shown there.

2) Statue shown at SDCC. Lots and lots of buzz. Some fanboy mentioned it to Carrie Fisher when she was signing autographs.

3) Fisher goes to the GG booth and sees a crowd gawking at the statue (which was rotating behind the display glass).

4) Fisher is aghast at the statue, gets a bug up her butt and throws a semi hissy fit (which I have had corroborated by 2 different people who were there, one of which was working in the SW area of the show).

5) Next thing you know, the statue is no longer rotating within the display case.

6) The rest is history.

Well, her fit aside GG still didn't have to listen. I don't know why they did. Out of respect I guess.

I don't know why she would throw a fit. It's a tribute as to how hot she was A Long Time Ago....In a Galaxy Far Far Away.

LMFAO! That last post was hilarious! Yes, but I think the statue gave her a lil' more curvature and definition than she had in real life. So it wasn't a 100 percent accurate take on Carrie. Close, but still not there. She was probably just jealous that she never looked as good as the statue shown there. I kid, she was a very attractive woman. That, or it reminded her of father time's cruel gesture he plays on us all concerning the ravages and physical self destruction brought on by the kind folks of old age.

It's funny, when we're children, even teenagers we can't get old fast enough so we can become grown ups and be taken more seriously. Then we all reach an age were we just want time to go the other way.

Has anyone made an anti-aging serum yet? I am in my 20's and wish to stay there. Not looking forward to the day when I am a 30-something year-old.

The goal is to look not a day over 30, as you'll find out. ;)

You know, I've heard this story several times, and it does sound plausible, but do we know that is what really happened? Every account I've read so far has been hearsay. I haven't heard of a single account from someone who actually observed the events in question.

Also, if final approval had not yet been granted, it doesn't matter what was shown at SDCC. It could be that the word from Lucasfilm was "that's good enough to show for now, but there are going some changes needed before the statue is released." So maybe it was their intent all along to have it changed, but there wasn't enough time before the show to complete them.

You don't really think that GG would take an opportunity like SDCC to reveal a scantily clad female statue to a crowd of over-hormoned, lonely, shower-phobics do you!?

oh man LOL :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I was in the GG area at SDCC when Carrie came to see the statue with her daughter. She did not appear to throw a fit of any kind. She looked at it for less than a minute and then proceeded to walk around the show. The statue was rotating at the time. I do not know if she was seeing it for the first time or if she ever saw it again. That is all I saw and my daughter was with me and we commented to each other on how cool it was to see Leia looking at Leia.
