The only significant upgrade will be the head, body and hands.

If someone was skilled it these ways, recast the head and hands (for personal use its legal) and buy some prometheus bodies for $12 at Toy Anxiety. Use the clothing from the Hasbro figures. A lot cheaper than $700 for a full band.

PS: I believe my post about the price never made it past SSC moderation on their blog. And it was not imflatory at all. Simply stated that if this was their new price range for plain figures they can write me off as a customer.

My comment was pretty tame as well (just pointing out that a clone ws $10 cheaper and more complex) and it didn't pass their moderation either.

Wonder if negative comments make it back to the management/decision makers or if someone simply deletes them.

Well, the pre-order is up and it's a figure, two instruments and a generic stand. No exclusive, nothing extra. First pre-order I'm strongly considering getting on the secondary market instead. Very sad IMO.

How 'bout that. It does have two instruments. Interesting move. Buy two of these and you have two members of the band really. I wonder how the other three will be offered.

Figrin D'an actually owned all the instruments. Of course, if you buy another Dan then you get two more instruments. Then if you buy the rest, you mortgage your house to do so because they priced it so ridiculously.:panic:

The Figrin D'an 12 inch Figure features:

Articulated Prometheus 1.2 Body with over 30 point of articulation
Sculpted Bith neck and forearms
Hand painted Figrin D'an portrait
Fabric undershirt
Fabric shirt
Fabric pants
One (1) pair standing Bith boots
One (1) pair Bith C-grip hands
One (1) pair Bith open palm hands
Detailed Kloo Horn instrument
Detailed Fanfar instrument
Lower support extendable figure stand with Star Wars logo

Wonder why the forearms aren't being shown, I'm assuming what you painted looked different SS?

So two instruments (so you could make a 2 for one) and an extra pair of hands. Still not feeling the $100 pricetag.

Especially when Razor's Edge is $10.00 cheaper right out of the gate.

Notice the TBD edition size. When the edition size comes out at some ridiculously low number, remember that PRICE determined demand and thus supply, lets just spare the excuses that low production is the reason for the high price that I know the SSC defenders will want to provide.

SSC hasn't disappointed me for a few years and now they are back at it. This thing shouldn't be more than $69 tops.

Yes, the forearms are fully sculpted alien forearms. My guess is that they aren't on the prototype figures because China may be handling the final engineering of the joints whereas the parts I painted were simply resin casts from the original sculpts.

I'll ask Sideshow if I can post pics of the parts I painted.

You guys know I pre-order pretty much everything Star Wars 1/6 straight from Sideshow. But I think even I have to pass on this one directly from them just due to price. $100 bucks for that figure seems too high to me.

Same here, I just cannot justify that kinda change for this figure and I am so addicted its not even funny yet this is an pretty easy pass. Too bad.....

And since there is no exclusive at the very least you can save 10% by going through a retailer. But I'll just hang back and try to snag a good deal on one, no way I'd want to pay more than $70 for one of these.

Wow what a freakin' rip off. And to put it into context, that statement is coming from someone who has purchased a lot of stuff from SSC, including many items that have taken heat for high price point in the past. This is just over the top.

When SSC has to highlight that the shirt and pants are fabric b/c the figure is so bare minimum, they have no right to ask $100 for it. I hope no one is considering buying this from Sideshow.
