Well, I must say that SS has finally found the breaking point for me with this figure. This is the first figure that I definitely planned on getting and now will be passing on because of price. No way is this guy worth $100 and I planned on collecting all the cantina aliens (already have Greedo and Hammerhead). Even if I wanted to splurge and drop the $100, I do not think I could get over that terrible wrist joint :( .

I am hoping tomorrow's pre-order springs a surprise to justify the $100 dollars price tag.

How ridiculous is the price on this thing? I have enough Reward Points saved up to get 3 of them... but I won't even use them to get 1, because it would feel like a waste of RPs.

I really hope for everyone's sake here long term that you guys let this figure crash and burn as it should.

The thought that prices need to increase to keep SSC floating is a big myth. There is no reason this figure need be more than $70.

Make a statement people.

When Sideshow starts giving out free $100 gift card's is the only time I'll get them from them.

That is a good plan... one I will also try to follow. I'd like to have one for ____s and giggles, but not at $100 and no way I'd buy full set unless Sideshow has some kind of deal up there sleeve.

Although so far every multi-pack (Endro Troopers, Sidious, Waxer/Boil) has been essentially figures at full price. So I guess there is no precedent to expect a discount on buying a set of them.

Relying solely on the pictures we saw and assuming this figure only comes with bare minimum accessories, I completely agree. Like the clones and stormtoopers, this is a mold that they can double and triple dip with, since the other band members are exactly the same. The rumored environment would encourage some to pick up multiples for display. SSC has plenty of opportunities to recoup their costs and really, they just had to make one figure b/c even the clones and stormtroopers had minor changes. There just isn't that much to this figure to justify $100, standalone. At that price, they not only lost sales to people who were considering multiples of the band member, they may have lost sales of people interested in just a single figure.

I think the Waxer/Boil set is a killer of a deal. Two armored troopers with two helmets each and a ton of equipment plus Numa for $220. I think we all know by now that if Numa was released separately they'd charge 70 bucks for her without batting an eye.

And people who are just tired of the price jacking and will just quit altogether. If $100 is the new base price, I'm officially out of the game and will only buy items if on super clearance. Its BS. Food prices are going up, sure, but prices for most of the other things I buy have been steady.

I saw on ebay some sellers had all six of the Hasbro ones from back in the day MIP for around $60-100. I know these are inferior, however just to have some background figures representing background characters in my 1/6th collection I actually thought about firing a set up to be honest.

The only significant upgrade will be the head, body and hands.

If someone was skilled it these ways, recast the head and hands (for personal use its legal) and buy some prometheus bodies for $12 at Toy Anxiety. Use the clothing from the Hasbro figures. A lot cheaper than $700 for a full band.

PS: I believe my post about the price never made it past SSC moderation on their blog. And it was not imflatory at all. Simply stated that if this was their new price range for plain figures they can write me off as a customer.

I'd say its a bit of a deal, but not much. Regular Clones are $90 a piece, the commanders are $120... these guys come out somewhere in the middle on accessories, but are all the pieces are standard reuse except for the altered heads.

Numa is okay I guess, but if anything her inclusing eats up the remaining $20-$30 more they're charging for the set.
