Once parted out, just buy the headsculpt. No need to pay $240 plus $20 shipping. The robes aren't that much of an upgrade.

Even if they wound up including a stand it wouldn't surprise me if its one of the generic black hexagon stands. Better than nothing but they're really pretty cheap looking for how much they're charging now. At least my Scout Trooper has the environment pieces that go with it, the one for 3PO is disappointing though.

The cloak should be included with this too I agree. It comes off lazy and cheating people out of it to not include it if you ask me for the price and considering how bare bones the figure is. Considering its part of his outfit that he wore a good chunk of the film.

He wore it almost the entire film. He even had it on Naboo for about ten seconds, before disrobing for the duel.

There is no reason for its exclusion. Laziness is not an excuse. ****, charge me $15 extra and give me the goddamn thing already. Lol.

Maul is coming back again in Star Wars Rebels so it's making me really want a new Maul figure. I wish Hot Toys got in the prequel game.

Seriously? Maul's storyline was, IMO, the best thing about Clone Wars. The Savage, Maul, Sidious duel was epic. I couldn't wait to see what Palps had planned for him...and then the series got cancelled. That's super exciting to hear they're bringing him back again...again. Do you know when he's supposed to appear? I know Leia is in a couple episodes this season as well.

You won't even need a Hot Toys version if Sideshow can get a handle on the QC and if they add the cloak.

Nothing Hot Toys could do would be miles better than the headsculpt Sideshow currently has. Hell, the only improvements to the figure at all would be the boots, assuming they aren't a softer material this time around, and the lightsaber.

I don't think Hot Toys will be doing prequel related items for a while anyway.

Unfortunately, SS paint is garbage and the horns in this guy are way too big. I think HT would do it better but not by too much. Plus I'm sure their price would be less and he would come with more. I'm still getting this even though I have both old releases and two medi versions.

We know the production piece will never be as good as this proto though. The paint apps and eyes are horrible with Sideshow figures.
X-Wing Luke would have been a home run if they'd been able to get the paint right, now it is only really acceptable wearing a helmet...and for $240! That's just not good enough and unless something drastic changes with Sideshow, like they go and ask QMX where they had their Mal done, then I don't see this figure looking as good as this proto.

Isn't that what most action-oriented animated series ever are? Not trying to offend anyone. I loved Transformers, TMNT, Batman, Ghostbusters and X-men. And I had a **** load of the toys.

Also, it's not meant to be taken seriously. At least the Clone Wars wasn't. It's just a Saturday morning kid's show to tide over younger fans. The movies would never revive the master of hate.

Yes! You can actually find out what happened to him if you read Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. Found the scans last night. It's really well done and helps tie up some loose ends in Maul's story, while also leading into Rebels. I'm really glad they worked on him more. He was seriously underused in TPM.
