I can't wait to see this with SSC's first Maul's cloak or the medicom cloak.

The hood is a must have for me because I realized that's the image I see when I think about Maul. The hanger doors open and he's silently waiting. No tricks or sneak attacks, just ready to slaughter him some Jedi.

Luke just lost a hand, Maul lost his lower torso and legs. Must have been a hell of a transition.:(

You mean the sheer one from SS or the satin disco one from Medicom that will be way too short?

I have my Medicom Maul on a custom body (Hot Toys torso/neck, Medicom arms and Marmit from the waist down) and the Medicom cloak is dead-on perfect to the length it's supposed to be. I seriously doubt the SS body will be taller than the body I have him on (just under 30cm from the ground to the top of his head which is about a cm taller than he should be at this scale), so I don't think there will be a problem sticking the cloak on the new SS if people want.

That solves one problem possibly. But the Medi-robe still has a satin sheen that Maul's simply didn't have.

I think you guys need to have a new, custom Yunsil cloak made specially for this new figure. Make it right.

I hear you WG but you really think guys should add another $150+ bucks to an already overpriced figure:cuckoo:

No. But once that money is spent and things start to bother you, more money will flow.... new body, cloak, etc... That madness always happens. Look at jnix Han Solo head. Or Luke head. Or the Leia dress.

You will be witness.

Different strokes and all that noise, but for me personally the flaws of these 1/6 figures greatly diminish when viewed from a normal distance when a bunch of characters who belong together are displayed together. I no longer dwell on leia's dress, han's melon, chewie's face, etc. Just see the ANH heroes. And considering the cost of some of these fixes I'll remain happily ignorant and apply that money toward the next wave of releases. Not saying those who pursue perfection are wrong though. I enjoy looking at others expensive mods.

Do Sideshow figures ever get the 20-30% off treatment when they sit around? That would probably make a lot more people bite on this.

Your answer is in the fact that a certain other $240 overpriced basic figure (that you have to display with helmet on to cover the sculpt/paint quality issues) is still available at $240 a full year after it started shipping.

For $240 figs that $25 coupon (when it becomes eligible that is) represents a roughly 10% discount. 20-30%? If the figure's a total dud, maybe on eBay.

It's always the issue - with the higher prices, you don't get similarly higher discount codes, unless you consider $20 to $25 to be a big jump in the context of a $100 price jump in basic figure prices.

I do really like the Sideshow pieces I have...but I feel recent releases should have more for the price.

I think a unique base would go along way and for this particular figure...YES! Of course they should have included the darn cloak! It would have been an easy add and would give a lot more incentive to buy this guy. And Sideshow should stop with the exclusives...all of their items are overpriced now and should include what they are labelling exclusive items.

I mean 250 for this figure...when you look down the list of similarly priced figures....
The new HT Darth Vader, Luke, Chewbacca. Just hard to see it as being worth that money.

As much as I want to boycott this figure I sold my other Maul and I really want one in my display! So I'll probably end up biting the bullet anyways :/

Yes but they are usually black Friday deals on figures that are 2 or 3 years old. Last year I don't recall any good 1/6 offers on black Friday.

I've read people say the portrait doesn't look much like Ray Park, but it looks like Maul straight out of the movie here.

He turned out amazing, I would love to get him, hopefully he's still available when cash comes around for me in January, otherwise I'll have to miss out.

Looks pretty good. Other than the typical whining about the price, I don't see how anyone can have an problems with it.
