Soooo...next question! What UK retailers are selling this for a reasonable price?
The way the pound has just crashed even further to 1.24 now I can't really justify ordering from SIDESHOW as it'll end up costing me £300.

This looks quite nice. But... as always... the price for such a basic figure. If they had the cloak and a unique sand base it would have started to kind of make sense, but it's even more basic than the Luke X and that was insane, yet had more value than this. In terms of complexity, this figure is primarily just a head.

I really want a maul in my collection. But I have such a hard time pulling the trigger on anything that SS manufacturers lately. I have been buying directly from them since 2003 and have watched the quality of all pieces PF, 1/6, life size etc plummet. Waiting for Hot toys take on maul.
Agreed. If Sideshow's prices were more reasonable I might think about getting this, but where things are at right now price wise and quality wise, there's almost no reason not to just wait for Hot Toys. I'm sure they will get around to prequels eventually. I will give credit to Sideshow though, this head sculpt came out pretty great.

This turned out great.
I own the first version, and a Callous moveable eye head with a neutral expression, so I'm not getting this at the price they're asking. Had they included two heads, one in a more scowling expression, I definitely would've bought one.

I'm really not sure Hot Toys are going to get round to the PT TBH, at least not until 2020 onwards!

I'll probably end up taking the plunge, would just like to know where's best in the UK to order this from!

Though supposedly Howard was a huge fan of PT Anakin and they did have him slotted in as a figure before they got the full license (after HT Luke Bespin,) and if HT today did do a PT character or two, it would almost certainly be Maul first or maybe second after Anakin.

Yeah if hot toys were to do PT, I'd expect to see ROTS Obi and Anakin for sure. As well as maul.

I would hope they would complete the episode 1 trio and do qui gon and obi wan too.

Though isn't the 1:4 Vader the revenge of the sith version?

The 1/4 Vader has been AWOL for a while - not sure what's happening there. Maybe 1/4 isn't selling as much as they thought. But yeah I think it's ROTS.

And I seem to recall the ROTS Anakin was quite far along (like people were expecting a PO very soon, it was #2 after Luke Bespin) then the big news of the license hit, and it simply disappeared. So it's possible it's almost ready to go immediately if they choose to do some PT figs.

All I'm saying is, if they do any PT figs at all, Maul will be one of them - it's just a no-brainer.

I'm not really into the PT but I like some of the designs - if HT did a Maul, I'd probably grab it, especially if it had all the Maul stuff you'd ever need (hooded cloak with wiring for action poses, light-up sabers, seeker, desert stand) plus snarl/reg heads; all the Maul you'd ever need.:lol

Damn. We're going to be waiting until after the sequel trilogy to get PT figures from HT. I want to wait for the seemingly inevitable Maul HT fig with all the accessories, but a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush. And while accessories are cool and all, I realized recently I don't ever use them. I have the DX 07 Luke and DX 12 Batman from DKR, which are loaded with cool accessories, but I still only pose them with the basic museum pose lol. Luke has his blaster up by his head as he turns the corner, and Batman is just standing like a boss. Even DX Vader, with all the extras, is posed by himself. I guess I don't care much for accessories.

And the only thing Maul ever needed was his lightsaber and the dark side.

But finding out a DX Anakin was near completion and delayed until OT stuff is done makes my blood boil. I would take that over the countless troopers HT has put out since acquiring the license... :gah:

I've read people say the portrait doesn't look much like Ray Park, but it looks like Maul straight out of the movie here.

He turned out amazing, I would love to get him, hopefully he's still available when cash comes around for me in January, otherwise I'll have to miss out.

But the hooded cape (for full bada**ry) and desert or gantry display stand helps, along with light-up sabers.:lol

As always... if this SSC fig was in the $160 range (for such a very basic fig,) it would be a no-brainer to grab even if a HT Maul could be PO'ed in the next couple of years. But lacking so much and at $240...

The hood is a must have for me because I realized that's the image I see when I think about Maul. The hanger doors open and he's silently waiting. No tricks or sneak attacks, just ready to slaughter him some Jedi.

This figure looks really impressive . No doubt but SSC must be smoking crack for this much $$$$ . For this I want at least a cloak for gods sake . thank you but I'll pass.

Headsculpt is nice. He is looking good overall, but price is awful for that almost nothing he comes with. I will not support SSC strategy to milk maximum from a minimum.
