I feel like his head proportions are making his eyes look closer together.

Yeah, wider shots where he is looking straight at camera it almost appears that he is cross eyed but then when you see the sculpt up close you can see that it is just an intense stare and all the reds were blending together a bit in the wide.

Looks really cool, I just cant pull the trigger on him. Will wait it out a few months and see if I still feel strongly about him.

Finally got my Maul yesterday. I opened him but didn't really get a chance to mess with him or futz anything. Pretty much straight out of the box.

Ignoring price, as a massive Darth Maul fan, simply through all of your photos, I am blown away. This figure so perfectly captures his essence and what appeals to me about Maul from the start, Sideshow really delivered on appearance. I've owned the original PF, Medicom and Sideshow 1/6, Sideshow lifesize bust and multiple Gentle Giant pieces and for me, this one is the second most "wow I gotta have it" of all 2nd only to the lifesize bust. The only thing holding me back right now is not being in a financial situation to get it or I would. I've argued about it being overpriced before, but the more I see it, the fan in me is overpowering my rational side and saying buy it whatever the cost. It's hard to focus on what's right here when the value of the package is significantly in question, but this, for the pieces included, looks like a perfect Maul

I don't know if it's the clothes or the body, but the clothes don't seems to really fit the figure well and makes his appearance look off.

This looks to be Sideshow's best effort to date. Thanks for posting pictures guys, & keep them coming!

Still, as much as I'd like to get this even with a huge discount, I only want one Maul in my collection and that will hopefully be the one with teeth showing. Whether that's a new "deluxe" version from Sideshow with cloak they could make in the future, or HT's version of this character, I'll hold out hope that one will be made eventually.

As someone who has owned several of Sideshows past figures I can honestly tell you this is their best and most successful attempt to date! Granted they could have includes a robe etc...for the price but that aside this is a clear winner. Although he appears small/petite to me compared to other figures he's still and awesome addition to a Star Wars collection

Ray Park is only 5'10, if that. He's not a particularly big guy either. I think his size is about right.

And I must have gotten really lucky with mine, because the seams were barely there and I had no paint imperfections on this *****, whatsoever.

Figure of my collection in all honesty. And I have a **** load of good ones. Granted, I'm biased as hell, lol.

This is a great Maul figure. Best to date but if you are looking for screen accuracy this does fall short.
The costume is not tailored properly. Mauls tunics and tabards were very baggy and spilled over his belt. His sleeves were also tight at the forearm but "poofy" around the shoulders. This doesn't seem to have that as nicely done as the Medicom did theirs. Still a nice figure and articulates well. Wish I could've gotten a better kick to the face pose but I still like it. For $87.00 I won't complain and still may do some mods on but for those who paid full price or planning to pay it I'd say wait for HT or pick up the Medicom and upgrade with this head, belt, and boots.

agreed jedijim! i played around with the pieces of the ss v 1 clothes, naboo clothes, and ultimately settled on a combo of the naboo parts and the hasbro outer robe . i really wanted to make him a little stockier and his clothes bigger and baggier. i know this wont be everyones cup of tea. i liked the longer clothes and untucked his boots so they too werent so neat and trim looking. the inner tunic from ssv 1 is alot more accurate. he looked great with the ssv1 outer tunic as well. but i think im keeping him like this

That looks great. Can you give the specific recipe? I'm a bit confused based on your post. Is it:

SSC V1
Tunic

Hasbro:
Tabards
