Is anyone gonna post any pics at all comparing the original Sideshow to the new one? I know several people have said they have both. Would be nice to see a true comparison photo. Obviously, the new one is better, but just not sure if I'm willing to spend money on the new way overpriced one until I see photos. Thanks in advance for anyone who finally throws up some comparisons..

Not sure which page but somebody already posted comparison pics. New Maul makes V1 look like a Hasbro effort.

Ok then. Iv'e been following this thread since day 1. All 161 pages. Only thing I ever saw posted was a head shot comparison, which I saved the pictures of. I have a folder with 110 photo's of the original and the new, but no full comparison photo's. I have original compared with Medi, but no new Maul compared with original Sideshow or Medi... Guess I missed them somehow? Anybody remember how long ago?

Wonder what outer robe that is looks nice and baggy. I have medi and older sideshow and personally I think that the new sculpt looks awesome but it's not a great likeness to the actor where is the medi I think looks spot on. I'm not sure if hot toys has tpm rights or not but if they do I'll wait.

A lot of people say that the medi sculpt is too thin. Whatever. I like it. And who cares if it looks like Park entirely? To me it's darth maul, and that's what counts! (To me...)
And as far as calling v1 sub par, is jus for the people that don't mod their figures. I've seen the sculpt with a modded brow, a new body, and it looks legit. Clothing color always bothered me though. Black is black. Not brownish, purplish black.

Got him on a local Black Friday sale.

Great figure, but man, he seems really small next to all the others.

I know Ray Park is not tall - but still a very solid guy - and Sideshow figures are normally slightly bigger than HT, but he seems really small even compared to HT figures.

My custom maul is on a ht body for obi wan which is 5 10". Close enough. I've ordered the outer outfit because the new one looks great I'll update pics when I get it set up. I'm passing on this maul as a whole figure because I know hot toys will make one later.

I caved and ordered the EX in case it sold out, but i have picked up some sculpts from Toy Anxiety and the head looks tiny in comparison to hot toys heads(And even other SS heads). I don't really mind about the size myself, but i was planning some customs so i reckon i am going to have to choose a body for the head very wisely so he doesn't look like Dutch, lol.

Hmm... interesting. Same thing that happened with SSC's TOD Indy. Came out probably better than any head that SSC has ever done, but about 10-15% too small versus even the smaller HT heads. And yeah - next to SSC heads it's a bit of a laugh, even next to newer heads like Han Hoth - TOD Indy looks tiny.

Maul with hood up will be fine, but I'm not sure I'm happy with the TOD Indy head displayed right next to a lot of my other Indy figures - it's like a young teen size head. I display him a bit further away.

I'll take some pics when i get to work today with various figure heads.

Fully agreed, I'm surprised hardly anybody mentioned this. While the V1 sculpt is a bit oversized, I feel this sculpt has the opposite problem. The right size would be somewhere in between.

I was quite surprised myself that no-one had mentioned it.
Here are some images with some random heads i pulled out of my head stash box:

Most stark in terms of size, is the Kylo Ren helmet. But you can see that Finn and Hawkeye are also larger.

I tried him on the new DAM necked "wiry-muscled" body and it looks like a good match. Well worth picking up as a replacement body in my opinion. I always have a few of these on hand for customs(And i expect it would go without saying that a "sith tattoos" version on this body could look great).

Great range of movement on the DAM peg that fits this body, and it has a rubber neck and torso.

Here's the Hawkeye head on the same body showing that the body seems a tad undersized with this head:
