I'd love to see ht tackle a stormtrooper or a tie pilot. Also, has there ever been a slave leia fig? I find the dress look quite boring so if I got a leia figure it'd be either in her hoth or slave outfit. A ht dx leia would be nice.

SSC only did ANH & Boushh Leia - while Hasbro did a few 12" Leia versions.

I'm hoping for a DX Endor Leia personally, but a Boushh Leia would be cool too actually. :)

A dx Leia with all of her outfits (dress, endor, hoth and slave) would be the best thing ever! Seeing as her outfits are fairly simple designs I could see this happening. As for Boushh I consider "him" a sort of separate character.

Sooooooo...

One week from today.. I guess that means we'll get a full specs preview on Wednesday, right?

Totally on board with HT producing a Boushh Leia! My favorite character and while SS's version was far superior to Hasbro, it's not very accurate, especially the helmet and height. Please HT, DO THIS!!!! And the DX could be one figure of Boushh and one of Slave Leia. How awesome would that be?!

Probably get the same image as before for the newsletter tease... but full reveal next week. Although I thought those were on Tuesdays, not Wednesday?

However, I'm less aware of these nowadays since releases I actually care about seem to be at a stand-still :lol

Well if they do do another Leia, I want the a Slave made just like the Boushh Leia. Where I open it. An everything came right off :monkey3

HT actually assisted in the development of the SSC Stormie armor. Throw it on a slim TT, and you basically have a HT Stormtrooper. :)

Yeah, I was gonna say didn't HT make the armor for most of the armored figures? I'm sure I've seen someone talking about it on youtube and surely have read about it on the forums.

They didn't MAKE it. they assisted sideshow with selecting the correct casting process, factories and the plastics used to make the armor, so the finished product actualy feels like armor. this was something that hot toys had already figured out due to their Predator kits.

They DID help with the design of the Body under the armor. it's essentialy a super-thin truetype.

The actualy DESIGN of the Armor was done in-house by sideshow.

I think Oluf said he had designed the armor via computer. Is Oluf still on the Sideshow team?

Kinda like old times... Is this a PPO?

It's possible, but Likely not, as the New sideshow buisness model Dosn't allow for it.

Silver Surfer explaned a while back that the new model is based on the Old Inclusive Buisness model.

They open preorders with a To Be Decided edition size. they then take preorders for an extended period of time, untill the sales START to slow down. Once sales start slow down, they Round up to the nearest 1000, 1250, 1500, or 1750 ( 2K, 3K, etc etc) and announce XXX JUST GOT AN EDITION SIZE in the newsletter. this has a few end results

1) it allows sideshow to maximize it's potential sales, cutting signifigantly into the aftermarket sales
2) It makes the figure much easier to get for people who want one
3) it leads to different edition sizes based on the popularity of said character
4) it leaves figures in-stock for sideshow to sell after the figure has been released, and reviews are out, maximizing sales, see #1

this also means it takes MUCH LONGER for figures to sell out on sideshow's site, but in the end means they have much less leftover stock in their warehouse, and over all, things sell out quicker on average, languishing in their warehouse for a much shorter time.

Yes this means that things that "overstay their welcome" end up on giftcard clearence, but only sitting on 200 zartans is better than 6000 Bespin solo's.

I thought HT only helped in the development of the body for the armor, not the armor itself.

WOOO self quote!
