I was pretty determined to have in-hand pics before I ordered Vader, but the video won me over. Supposing both Grievous and Vader are released on time, they'll be arriving the same day (unlikely, but I can hope). Looks like Sideshow really came through for this one.

I'm still wary knowing SS, but if the fig in the video is production looks like we could be in good shape. Only thing still that remains to be seen is the suit. Still can't quite tell if it's the baggy mess of the proto pics. (don't think so but can't be sure) It may be safe to preorder now fellas.:lol

Yes the baggy was worrying me to. Seems lesser in this video but then there is barely any light thats falling there to know for sure. But overall looks good.

If I had to choose between the two, I'd definitely go with Vader over the probe droid.

I think you're right Boba. The probe droid will hang around for longer too I think, especially if Vader turns out to be as good as it looks so far. I'm just about at the point where I'm justifying the spend, like emotionally I've already said farewell to my money. Just go, 3 Bills, and never come back, *sob You'll never love me like 1/6 Vader Doll can *sniff

man, I know I'm late but I just saw that video on The Experience and hot damn if that wasn't cool. Loved the teaser of the art box at the end too. If only I still had all my old SW figures

NOT liking the length of inner robe and the way the cape drapes. Please fix it SS! (Didnt you learn from the first one?) :slap

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that they included the face we never saw.

I'm usually with the idea of sticking to the source material and not straying far from what was shown on screen but I think this situation gets a pass. Unless we're going to display him layed out on his a$$ on the brink of death, then the sad old man look wouldn't be too appealing for a figure. I think the idealized approach is the way to go in situations like this

I really dig the EX hand; maybe I'm in the minority. I have no plans of ditching my ANH so that's the look that would set the two apart most and uniquely represent ESB. It's not a pose choice that I'd keep indefinitely, but definitely a nice option

Just caught that. I typed ESB but meant ROTJ :monkey1

Judging by the cape, tunic and less than perfect dome... I guess not :lol. Let’s hope that they got the height right this time

It looks like a cape & tunic replacement is a must. Maybe not pure perfection, but after that this will be a pretty awesome piece :yess:

How many of you guys honestly thought the stock frabic would look good enough? :lol

Custom will always be the way to go with these fabrics. Can't ever see them trying to produce these figures with a proper looking cape/robe.

For the price they charge and the increase in price over the last Vader, youd think at least THIS would be done right.
Not up the price and stuff up the robes/cape/dome again.
or am i being too picky for a $250 figure? :dunno
Ok lets go spend another $40-50 on top of that finding custom robes. :gah:

Wow, how can the video have him looking so good, and then that pic makes him look so bad. Why in the hell can't Sideshow get the capes right? It's pretty sad when people can buy the cheapest fabric and make custom capes that are much better than ones they produce. It makes their entire figure look crappy.

every recent picture I've seen has had Vader looking up and never straight on. It's like they're purposely trying to hide the way the helmet looks head on.

That my friend is a very good point, and now that you said, the lighting also could make a difference. So no real way to know of things have improved.
