I have been using them for a couple of years now buddy and all has been smashing, apart from them getting stuff late.

They have always informed me of delays and have helped me out so I can't fault them.

The two little ding dongs I had with them was -

1 - I told them I wasn't to fussed about them getting their figure in late compared to other retailers but all I wanted was a guarantee that I would get one and they told me nothing is a guarantee until it is in their warehouse, so why take pre-orders then?

2 - They got Bane in early and didn't inform me. To be honest that is more of a nit-pick but they could have emailed me and said that he had arrive earlier than expected.

@greygoose - I don't know the full story on the .com vs. the .co.uk site. So the .com ones are the ones on the high street then?

Haha, the same thing happened to me with Bane. My pre-order guy starts selling for retail and I am like: err, can I please pay for my Bane? :lol

:rotfl

Yeah I just got the notice in my email that FP.co.uk had taken the money for Bane a good 4-6 weeks before he was due in. So I was both surprised and raging at the same time.

They were the same store and separated. There is some history on wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidden_Planet_(bookstore)

I'm assuming .co.uk is the highstreet store in England and .com is the rest.

At London Super Comic Con in February i saw both of them on opposite sides of the hall, confused me then as well!

The one I go to in Liverpool is based off the .com branding. There are other stores around the UK.

Yeah, they both have brink and mortar shops as well as websales.
FP.co.uk used to be utterly, utterly useless. I stopped doing business with them some time ago due to the number of orders that were going unfulfilled or general delays. FP.com were always better, but to be honest I never found the prices competetive enough to buy much; it was usually cheaper elsewhere.

As I say FP.co.uk has been great with me but mostly everyone I read about them online was negative.

But I have two pre-orders with other retailers so FP.co.uk is now not my only go to site.

That's reassuring to know.

That was what got me worried when I realized there was no limit on pre-orders.

I read that there was a falling out within the original Forbidden Planet company, and it split in two. FP.co.uk seems to be known as Forbidden Planet International.

I think they take the item off their website once they reach the PO threshold but I have heard people complain that they did PO an item and it never arrived so they obviously take more than they can handle.

Yeah that is it they are known as FPI. One will probably buy the other ne out in the future. :lol

I used to use them all the time (fpi) and they were great.
I'm using collectible kitbash now as I got fed up with the time lag before fpi received stuff.

What arms are you talking about? The only skinny arm pictures seems to be that of an ANH Vader, just look at the internal robes. ESB/ROTJ Vader doesn't have them in that same way.

And the point of your sarcastic reply is what exactly? If you don't care, don't post.

You asked a question. I answered it. Not my problem if you didn't like the answer. It's a box. :dunno

Maybe next time you'd like to provide me with a tick list of pre-approved answers that won't cause angst.

For sure it's not going to matter to everyone, but personally I really like it. It's nice to see SSC able to design something different from the traditional SW box. I've always enjoyed good packaging and presentation, and for me it adds a bit to the overall experience. Hopefully they do something cool for Grievous, too.

Agreed! I really like what they're doing with the DC line. The Joker box is really nice. I think it's about time they updated the SW design.

...a box that adequately protects the figure, stand and accessories and then flat-packs for storage.

Just got finished watching Revenge of the Sith on TV.......I know this is the ESB/ROTJ version but it made me just think that I cannot wait until this figure comes out!!!
