take a GOOD look at the faceplates, I know I'm not the first, nor only person to have said it, BUT I'm seeing two distinctly different ones here.
One, you are correct, is clearly ROTJ.
The other is also, clearly, ESB.

I didn't know that ESB featured a different cut to his helmet, I saw the odd shaped faceplate but didn't know what it meant, I just wanted to know what the signs were of one film vs the other.

That would be quite cool if Sideshow were to have 2 different helmets for the figure. So would that mean the neck piece would also have to be different?

If so it might be fun to have a little 1/6 display for the 2nd helmet when its not in use.

Indeed... or maybe a 1/6 version of the exclusive stand from the 1:1 bust :lol

Also, I wonder if the mask will be hollow with internal details... or if it will be a solid chunk? I know the sculpt won't fit inside the mask, but I do hope there is at least the option to have the scarred back of his head visible if you take off the dome.

Yes to all of that.

I'm guessing that if they have a separate ESB head, you'll be able to remove the dome and expose the back of his head. For the ROTJ head, I'm sure the whole Shaw portrait will be separate.

If they can get details on the insides like the Han/Luke stormie helmets, they are reaching epic levels with this figure and I think the $200 barrier is toast.

Unfortunately, Too Much Garlic's diagram is no longer linked. But this new photo shows what he describes as the ESB reveal.

Looks like he fixed it.

Yeah, I'm thinking that as well... but this might also be a figure where Sideshow dumps a lot into in and intentionally keeps the cost a bit lower in order to bring new people in and/or attract collectors how dropped out of the line.

When Jedi Luke came out he seemed pretty cheap considering how much stuff he came with. But he hooked a lot of collectors in.

now it seems comical that jedi luke was $49 when he came out & people freaked.

Damn. How cheap were Hasbro figures? :lol

All I ask is that they not skimp for the sake of a lower price point.

Funny how this will change my collection... SS's Vader has been the center piece of my 1/6th collection for 3 years now!... I can't help but think how cool it would be to have three shelves set up with Vader's three lightsaber duels.... Obi will be up to snuff once Ski repaints him for me, but Jedi Luke is gonna be a problem. :(

That's not so bad. I'm keeping my Obi-wan ghetto so he'll be right there with Luke. ESB will be center stage, so it will all balance out.

The real trick will be waiting for a DX Obi-wan after we get a DX Jedi Luke (or vice versa).

i think they started out in the $12-14 range and rose up to $20's and higher after a few years. if i'm remembering correctly. some of the more expensive ones were like DX sets or multiple fig sets.

This is a Sideshow figure, it has nothing to do with HT whatsoever.

:slap:thud::cuckoo:

You mean the ABSENCE of any HT logo ANYWHERE on the pics that have been posted OVER AND OVER mean that HT has NOTHING to do with this release?

My mind is blown. AGAIN!!!! :nana:

Not being obtuse, but are they not using the armored body for this like the first release?

I don't see Hot Toys logos on any of the recent clone teasers and images... but they still use the body developed with HT and I think the logos are still on the boxes.

The armored body (like the hobbit) was developed with HT, and for Vader they had a larger version of it... that is why the ANH (if I recall correctly) has the HT logo on the bottom of the box.

In looking at teaser and PO images of the clones none of them have a HT logo, but the boxes all do because of the bodies.

Well, I'm just going off of the two teaser pics that say SIDESHOWCOLLECTIBLES.com on them. :dunno Perhaps HT just want to do a bunch of work for SS and get no credit? So now that I'm thinking about this, yeah, this must be a HT figure. :lecture
