Just watching ESB n 1080p right now. It's funny how wide the helmet is in the movie - much more so than this figure. In some scenes it's almost comically wide, reminding me of Darth Helmet in Spaceballs.

Unfortunately, no one has seemed to get the wideness of the helmet right, except for Medicom. In the movies, Vader's dome was WIDE in comparison to the mask.

Now on the third day of sitting in Hawaii. I appreciate Vader wants a Holiday but damn it Fedex, what the hell are you doing?

As to the height, I'm not too worried.

The scale issue again. :lol

Its so funny how so many people think its something different. I said this before, but you would think it would be clear cut as to what the actual height should be, no questions. :lol

Sooo how tall should the figure be?

It's like the colour debate going on in the Hoth Solo thread... when it comes to the magic of cinema and having characters represented in 1/6 the important thing for me is the perception rather than the reality. Regardless of accuracy, I think most people would perceive ANH Vader, and to slightly lesser extent this one, as being 'too tall'. I reckon by about a good in on on the ANH version.

But I also don't care especially. Not enough to bother with a height mod, that's for sure.

Can anyone confirm whether the chest box and belt boxes can be illuminated independently? I was thinking of using the ESB belt on my ANH Vader because the buckle is more accurately detailed and I guess it's cool to have the green lights on it too. I'm worried that the chestbox needs to be plugged into the belt to complete the circuit and make the lights come on though. Can anyone shed any...ahem...."light" on the subject?
Thanks!

it's all relative though HT Luke is too tall I think (Mark Hamill is maybe 5'7") and SS made Boba too short since the actor in the suit was 5'11" flat footed out of costume, and Vader is at most 1/4" too tall. As for the comments that Vader did not tower over other characters in the movie that isn't always right when it was Prowse in the costume he dwarfed Luke and most of the troopers and the Emperor and was quite a few inches taller than Billy Dee Williams. I did notice a few taller officers in the series that made him seem more normal in height.

That's ok, there's always a time to get schooled, and right now it's your time. ;)

This is the image we were talking about. Where can anyone's tibia be seen? :p Maybe (just MAYBE) you can argue the image is cut below Vader's knee. Looks like it's above Hamill's however.

You could have mentioned that we don't know if that's Prowse in the image or something else that would be more difficult to verify.

Just in case, this is a tibia:

The height Luke appears in that image is the height relative to Vader he appears in the movies. So in the end, as someone else said, it doesn't matter if he's wearing platform shoes and Vader is wearing flats, that's their intended height differential.

Neither Vader nor Prowse were giants by any stretch of the imagination, just like Hamill/Luke and the main cast weren't Hobitses. Or Jawas or Ugnaughts.

A good little piper would do well to comprehend a post first, before wee piper responds to it.

I know what a tibia is and I know the picture doesn't show them. That was kind of point (guess it went a bit over your head. Is English your mother tongue?) You see in order for that picture to be an accurate representation of the height difference between Hamill and Prowse that would mean that Hamill would have to possess a disproportionately long tibia.

Remember, in order to respond you must first comprehend.

I think it's over-sized, the thing that makes it look even bigger is the fact that his proportions are much bigger than other 1/6 figures. His helmet looks huge compared to Luke and so do his hands. Should've made him a little smaller proportion wise and shorter. If he's this big, imagine how big Chewy will look? Maybe SS will make look gigantic too (tall and wide and like Vader)

Honestly, I don't think it's that bad. Maybe I'm desensitized because the unmodded ANH version was ridiculously oversized (and in comparison, this one is much closer to being in scale), but I like all the photos I'm seeing so far of Vader with Luke and other figs. For me, the proportions look really good. It's by far the best Vader released by anyone, so I can live with it not being 110% perfect.

His proportions to me look good alone, but next to another 1/6 figure, he looks huge. SS should've made him shorter and less wider, but that's all you'll hear from me, no need to keep bringing up height issues. I'm still getting him!

Thanks jb.

Yeah, it takes a bit of effort to get the lower sleeve over, but the material stretches well.

Thanks sir!

Jerk!

:lol....thanks shockwave.

I actually fashioned a key from bone and hair fragments I have been secretly stashing when she goes to work. Now I can let myself out whenever I want :yess:

So what you're saying is we need Imperial Guards? I agree.

Yes.....Yes we do. Also need some Biker Scouts.
