I agree. I'm thinking, if anything, the changes will be for the worse. If this is only the prototype (most likely) and not a production piece, then I can't think of an instance where the production piece was better than the proto.
What about Grievous, though? Seems like what they showed last year was likely more of a statue than a working, posable figure, or at least was clearly not ready for production. Dunno, just throwing it out there.

I know right :huh
That would be crazy if they did go with the overspray, though, for such a small detail. :lol

Well, we haven't seen hide nor hair of Grievous since then. So who knows what the final piece will look like! :dunno
Yeah, just meant that Grievous seems to have been slapped together for SDCC, so it provides a possible precedent for this Vader just being a rough proto. If this is the final proto, still seems very odd to me that they would not display the multi-part helmets in much more detail.

While I would love for that to be the case with Vader, I suspect the reason we haven't seen Grievous is that he was such an experimental figure for Sideshow and they didn't have it al figured out. On the other hand, Vader is a very traditional type of figure. It is hard to believe they would show off a figure without having sculpted the armor and helmet which are the most important parts of the suit. More than likely, what we are seeing are new armor pieces and a new helmet...and judging by Sideshow's history they will be the final versions. I really hope I am wrong though.

Good points, zeiss. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

The suit looks really accurate for ESB and ROTJ. And the chest-piece looks great.
That is clearly the reveal helmet... you can see the slight separation between the tusks and the top grill, and you can slightly see the metal underneath the helmet. The grill on the underside of the mask could be a little bigger, but I think it looks fantastic. I am totally stoked for this figure!!!! :yess::panic::panic:
